If I ever get the chance to go to Dallas one day, I'd really like to visit the site (I'm a big history buff). I'm sure it'll be swamped the weekend of 'Mania with everyone coming in from everywhere imaginable.WHG wrote:I stayed there about 10 years ago my first time in Dallas and wasn't aware of that and still remember walking into my room, randomly looking out my window and...holy shit...there's a birds-eye view of the Kennedy Assassination site. It was actually pretty chilling.DXvsNWO1994 wrote:Also, the hotel is apparently right next to Dealey Plaza.

Re: What day should Supercard of Honor X be booked?
The Friday night/Saturday afternoon schedule makes me wonder if maybe we will get a Friday night iPPV and then a Saturday fallout TV taping.
Check out the An Honorable Mention podcast... I voice stuff on it!
Re: What day should Supercard of Honor X be booked?
I think an iPPV is a serious possibility. Timing wise, SCOH the last two years just ended up being in a spot when the company was on indefinite hiatus from iPPVs when the shows happened. If they run DBD successfully and a couple more in the second half of 2015, I think it's very possible they'll do it next year.
It will be about a month after the 14th Anniversary show (presumably a PPV), which I would have thought would be an issue but clearly DBD shows they don't mind running an iPPV right after a PPV. If I were to place a bet today, I think it'll be on iPPV...especially because they don't appear to be cheaping out on the venue.

I don't know. There's a good chance that would be a $35 ROH iPPV up against a live NXT special that comes free with your WWE network subscription.
Saturday will almost certainly be a TV taping though.

Re: What day should Supercard of Honor X be booked?
When has a stand-alone iPPV ever been $35?
Re: What day should Supercard of Honor X be booked?
Yeah, the standalone iPPV would likely be $20 or $25, but point taken. I think there's a real likelihood that the NXT show will be live on the network next year as well.
That said, WWN runs multiple iPPVs on Mania weekend and everyone understands the business model just has to be different. I think NOT running on iPPV the last 2 years hurt ROH's reputation (in terms of being behind the times) more than overcharging for content.

Ticket page kinda confirms it'll be a TV taping.

Whatever it is. My point is no buys if it's up against an essentially "free" NXT show.TYFDK wrote:When has a stand-alone iPPV ever been $35?
Re: What day should Supercard of Honor X be booked?
Absolutely, but the new "NXT crush puny ROH" dynamic changes things.WHG wrote:

If the card's good enough, people will buy it, pricing won't matter.Burnside wrote:Whatever it is. My point is no buys if it's up against an essentially "free" NXT show.TYFDK wrote:When has a stand-alone iPPV ever been $35?

It always matters when you're trying to charge money for something while your competition is giving their product away for free.TYFDK wrote:If the card's good enough, people will buy it, pricing won't matter.Burnside wrote:Whatever it is. Re: What day should Supercard of Honor X be booked?
That's true. People will probably be more willing to watch something for free. But what I said still stands, if the card looks good enough, it will get buys. Most wrestling fans aren't THAT petty when it comes to $20.Burnside wrote:It always matters when you're trying to charge money for something while your competition is giving their product away for free.TYFDK wrote:If the card's good enough, people will buy it, pricing won't matter.Burnside wrote:

At the very least, it would get them some extra VOD buys because it will be up instantly instead of a week later.
I was in the front line when we battled page 15

"Mr. Takayama-San,
Hunter and I would REALLY appreciate Invasion Attack not being the same day as WrestleMania next year. We could really use as many special attraction talents as possible for Supercard of Honor X since WWE is being a pain in the ass now. Please let us know ASAP what the plan is and who will be available for us to book.

Wouldn't be surprised if Jushin Liger's already got his flights booked.

Cant wait to attend my first ever ROH show! Hope to see a lot of you guys there!
Re: Supercard of Honor X - April 1-2, 2016 - Dallas, TX
Any idea what the capacity of this venue will be? There were plenty of unsold seats in the New Orleans venue so I foolishly assumed San Jose would be the same and was caught off guard when they sold out.
Re: Supercard of Honor X - April 1-2, 2016 - Dallas, TX
It's a big hotel ballroom with no fixed seating, similar to the venue at The Orleans in Vegas they ran for the 13th Anniversary. I'm guessing they'll set it up for 1200 or so.
