Re: Death Before Dishonor 2022!
Silly shit like just wearing a T’Shirt to the ring instead of his full gear, getting out before Nanna was anywhere near him. Then seemingly blowing up, deleting his Twitter etc, and apparently going off on Khan. We’ve been head before with Gresham and it’s a shame because he can be his own worst enemy.Montana wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 7:27 amWhat do you mean by Gresham hasn't done himself any favors by how he went into the match and the stuff afterwards? I don't recall him do anything after the match. Seemed like Gresham's matches were fine on like Rampage and cut a pretty good promo. But his fault , on the booking side.BurningHammer wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 7:10 am I don’t particularly like how it all came together and what’s happened with Gresham sadly he’s hasn’t done himself any favours by how he went into the match and stuff afterwards. ROH is now changing and it’s no one’s fault really.
Like you said, kinda is what it is. ROH is changing; and no one specifics fault. At least, it seems like the plan is to focus on quality in ring wrestling.

They have found their voice as people and as wrestlers and with that you have to take the rough with the smooth. I understand the frustration, and anger but there are ways of dealing with all of it. Last night wasn’t it, he should have left a legacy in ROH worthy of bowing out instead he decided to cheapen it all for himself which I don’t agree with at all. Especially when it’s with Claudio of all people, the guy is seemingly the most normal dude in wrestling.Chrisvegas27 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 9:56 amI'm starting to wonder a bit if grace and Gresham are perfect for each otherBurningHammer wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 9:55 amYeah because no other promoter in ROH let alone wrestling has done that on regular basis have they…..

There are reports he was cussing fans out at ringside that was disrespecting him
Re: Death Before Dishonor 2022!
Dont be silly. its not the loss to Claudio. It was the lack of communication, lack of direction, 12 minute match opening the ppv.BurningHammer wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 10:04 amThey have found their voice as people and as wrestlers and with that you have to take the rough with the smooth. Re: Death Before Dishonor 2022!
The former Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham is seeking to be immediately released from his AEW/ROH contract, according to a new report from “Fightful.” It’s explained that Gresham asked for his release Saturday ahead of the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view and his ROH World Title defense against Claudio Castagnoli — a bout he ultimately lost.
The report cites “a lack of communication between the company and Gresham leading up to the weekend,” inspiring the technical wrestling specialist to feel “disrespected.” The lack of time given to the World Title match during last night’s show was also a noted “tipping point.”
Gresham reportedly met with Tony before the show began and got heated enough to the point that he was “cussing out” the AEW/ROH President. “Fightful” notes that several people backstage have corroborated this story after what occurred between the two. Gresham has since responded to inquiries about the ordeal and claimed he is “done with wrestling for the foreseeable future after this month.” Part of the reason Gresham came out in his regular entrance attire last night was that he was unsure if that would be his final match before hanging up the boots. Tony Khan has yet to comment, and it remains unclear if Gresham has been granted his requested release from ROH and AEW.

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2022!
Gresham should of realized he wasn’t one of the chosen ones months ago before he signed. He’s not a former wwe guy or a pure Indy guy so TK doesn’t really care about him. He would of been better off dropping belt to Bandido (another guy TK doesn’t care for) & going full time in Impact. In AEW there are 4 categories for a push. Elite guy, Ex-WWE, Homegrown, Friend of Ex-WWE guy. Gresham didn’t fit into any of those boxes. Sucks for him & I hope he takes some time and gets back to kicking ass in the ring.

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2022!
I’m not saying it had anything to do with Claudio, I’m saying that Gresham should have at least respected Claudio enough that he would address the match circumstances properly. Personally I think this is Khan being Khan and you either accept how he deals with things or you don’t but that doesn’t excuse Gresham and his behaviour as like before he’s gone off the rails a bit.indyfan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 10:09 amDont be silly. its not the loss to Claudio. Re: Death Before Dishonor 2022!
Everyone is quick to blame Tony about this and that. I'd almost say that the call for the match was set before Gresham asked out. Claudio winning was the right call. He's a great talent first, and second Tony's probably going to get ROH a weekly show especially with how well he said the buys were for the PPV. Who do fans he's trying to draw in know better? Gresham or Claudio? Gresham is a great talent, don't get me wrong. I understand why he put the ROH World Title on Claudio. Plus he said in the media scrum had Danielson not gotten hurt. Claudio was debuting on this show as a mystery opponent to Gresham. Tony also said in the media scrum, not sure who. But he said he kept some of the former backstage ROH people to work ROH now. Christopher Daniels is head of talent relations for AEW, not Tony does that mean he does for ROH or is it someone from the former? Don't know.
Re: Death Before Dishonor 2022!
Gresham is not mad about losing to Claudio. He is mad about Tony’s bad communication skills. Gresham most likely realized few weeks ago Tony didn’t give a shit about him when he dropped him from Joe/Lethal storyline, randomly turned him heel for no good reason, put world title as opener and gave them less than 13 mins. It was an afterthought designed to further an AEW storyline. How should Gresham feel? Happy? Grateful? Come on…Captain_44 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 10:55 am Everyone is quick to blame Tony about this and that. I'd almost say that the call for the match was set before Gresham asked out. I wasn't saying that he was upset over losing to Claudio. They were given the time they did so the 2/3 Falls match could have as long as it did, which it should have.Shanahan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 11:53 amGresham is not mad about losing to Claudio. So the best approach is to cut into the World title match?Captain_44 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 12:04 pmI wasn't saying that he was upset over losing to Claudio. Re: Death Before Dishonor 2022!
It was the shortest match on the PPV. The womens title match went almost 18 mins. You telling me they couldn’t of went 13 and gave few more mins to world title. It’s a joke.indyfan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 12:06 pmSo the best approach is to cut into the World title match?Captain_44 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 12:04 pmI wasn't saying that he was upset over losing to Claudio.
