Random ROH Thoughts Thread

To compare their attendance to another company... MLW is heading towards their next sellout in Chicago (about 2200 tickets sold so far) for this card:

MLW World Heavyweight Championship: Tom Lawlor vs. Jacob Fatu
Deathmatch: Mance Warner vs. Bestia 666
Ladder Match for the World Tag Team Championships: Hart Foundation (Teddy & Pillman Jr) vs. Dynasty (MJF & Richard Holliday)
Unsanctioned Match: The Von Erichs vs. Contra
National Openweight Championship: Alex Hammerstone vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.
Los Parks vs. Los Wagners
Air Wolf vs. Ace Austin
Myron Reed vs. Rey Horus

Honestly not the craziest card. But you’ll notice there’s no Matt Taven on there.

Jacob Fatu is awesome...i see the guy on aew or wwe soon...roh well...they can build something good with josh woods.

I look at that MLW card and i have to honestly scratch my head how that sells 2200 tickets, EVEN for Chicago, which is a good wrestling city. I give MLW credit, for making lemonade out of lemons. Personally MLW is alright, but it hasn't sucked me in with all the other great companies out there. It boggles my mind how MLW can sell that many tickets without big stars.

I look at a ROH show and see the Briscoes, Jay Lethal, Dalton Castle, Rush, Dragon Lee, Jeff Cobb, Marty Scurll, PCO, FIip Gordon , etc etc much bigger stars imo. I'd say Fatu and MJF are stars/future stars... but not the rest. Maybe ppl are just tired of ROH live, as they've seen it for years. Pus ROH's tickets have gone up, and they market/promote less. Either way, glad to see MLW having good ticket sales.

Crazy how far decent storytelling and taking things rather seriously can get you despite lacking star power and great in-ring. Speaking of veiled shots at ROH, you should check out Aries' promo on this week's show.

Also, coming soon but not tomorrow: a NJPW star returns to ROH for Nashville and Atlanta.

I will say this I think Roh is listening to the fans when it comes to bully and the allure the Philly tapings seem to be less focused on them and focused on more important things
