Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread
The latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the relationship between AEW and NJPW is “clearly not good right now,”noting that while at one time NJPW was wanting to build a relationship with AEW, that is no longer the case.
The topic came up in regards to Kenny Omega, as there has been no movement on Omega appearing for any New Japan shows in the future, in particular Wrestle Kingdom. He was not at Dominion nor any other NJPW show this year outside of WK 13. Earlier this year, NJPW had visa issues that kept their Japanese talent from appearing on their American tour. AEW was just starting at this time and NJPW could have helped ticket sales with Omega. Some of the dates happened at a time when Omega was still under contract. A few would have happened after Omega signed with AEW, but at that time, AEW would have had no problem allowing him to work the dates. NJPW reportedly didn’t think about that and haven’t even tried to bring in Omega this year.
Jon Moxley could be another point of contention between the two parties. As we previously reported, Moxley will not be appearing at the G1 Climax 29 opening show in Dallas on July 6. Not only that, but he also won’t appear at the G1 press conference on July 5 in Arlington, Texas at the Bob Duncan Center. This is the first time that someone in the tournament won’t be at the press conference or on the first show.

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread
Why would anyone care if Sinclair sold ROH to Viacom ? If Viacom wants to pay SBGI 's price they could purchase ROH . However Sinclair would Viacom want a premium for ROH . Sinclair is in the money business , they are not going to just give ROH away like AOL did with WCW .Chrisvegas27 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 6:44 pm Would people be against sinclair selling roh to Viacom

I think that would be wonderful for ROH. I think their tenure as owners of Bellator has shown that they are willing to invest in a property, their stations are fairly strong, and one weekly TV show at a set time would give us a much more accurate picture of ROH's true viewership as opposed to the way it is now with it being fractured over various local affiliates with shows airing at many different times.Chrisvegas27 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 6:44 pm Would people be against sinclair selling roh to Viacom
Plus it gets them away from all manner of controversy with Sinclair.

I think if they sold them to Viacom they actually could get up there with aew having them on a big channel and Viacom has networks all over the world

If someone is against Sinclair selling the company they probably voted for Trump. So that should tell you all you need to know about them.Chrisvegas27 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 6:44 pm Would people be against sinclair selling roh to Viacom

I just figured Viacom has lots of networks around the world and in the states plus their getting around to merge with cbs it could literally change roh over night with a permanent timeout international clearance better production advertising and so much more

Since Dave lagana is a producer and bully is friends with Billy corgan and nwa is partners do you see Billy coming into either a part of creative like actual writer or creative consultant for roh

There’s a difference between enjoying something and actually doing it. I enjoy eating Chipotle, I don’t make the burrito.Chrisvegas27 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 7:37 pm Have you ever seen his interviews he very much enjoys being part of the creative aspect of wrestling

I was just saying from his interviews and his creative position in impact in the past seemed like he enjoys doing it when given the chance

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread
We get it. The horse is dead. If the company is going to refresh their booking, you clean house and you bring in someone with experience and connections. Billy ran impact a company worth absolutely nothing. The new booker(s) needs to be someone familiar with ROH history, familiar with formatting TV, and familiar with present trends in wrestling. There's very few names that fit that bill. Dave Lagana is one of them, the other two are past wrestlers with brilliant minds and important roles in ROH History, Jimmy Rave & Homicide. The company is not turning over it's booking to anyone, sadly.Chrisvegas27 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 10:29 am I was just saying from his interviews and his creative position in impact in the past seemed like he enjoys doing it when given the chance

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread
I have to say sinclair is owned the company almost ten years and other than a few things like a streaming service and production improved a bit nothing really changed
