Wait... are there really people out there to don't think Naito is winning?

Honestly, it's all for grabs ever since Gedo showed how risky he is in choosing Kenny last year.

In Night 1 news, Naito leaves Sapparo on top, but at what cost?

I think Gedo is petrified of putting Naito up against Okada on their biggest show. Look what happened when Naito won it last year from Okada. Naito had the entire crowd in Tokyo eating out of the palm of hands. If I am wrong I don't care. I would love to see Naito disrespectfully throwing the IWGP title around again.

I don’t know if Gedo is afraid of the reaction to an Okada/Naito match at WK as much as booking the finish. Naito would really need the win, yet babyfaces never lose at the Dome. Still, it's definitely the right match.

Okada has gone on record saying that he couldn't believe the reaction Naito got when he beat him for the title. I agree 100% that it should be the main event. Naito is my favorite wrestler to watch, so yeah, I want him to win. I am looking at this from a different angle. If you think about it, Gedo a long time ago found his replacement for Tanahashi in Okada. Naito was the good hand that would never ascend. But something happened that Gedo never anticipated...the rise of Naito in Los Ingobernables. No fucking way Gedo expected this. All the more reason Gedo keeps the title away from Naito so it doesn't make look like he made a mistake in choosing Okada over Naito.

If Ibushi win G1, we can't hope Omega vs. Ibushi for WK.
It could be a reason to bet Ibushi.

I don't think they'll do this unless Ibushi signs a full-time contract. They might do it without the belt involved, though.

Well maybe we should do away with this silly idea that a babyface always has to win at biggest show of the year?

Sounds like you're questioning the all-knowing Gedo?

I think it's a pretty good rule-of-thumb for a babyface to win the main event of the largest show, just not as a definitively binding one. Naito should beat Okada. Doing otherwise would greatly risk Naito's power as a top star in the long run.

Great match in its brevity. Probably one of the best in the tournament thus far.

I've never been so selective with my desire to see a certain wrestler in a certain promotion, but, damn, Elgin in New Japan is just the bomb. Okada and Elgin are wonderfully bonkers in putting on a title defense-quality match on the fourth night of the tour.

My assumption (or at least my hope) is that they will actually allow Hiromu to be the one to get revenge on Fale for his horrifying deed. This would also temporarily remove Hiromu from the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title picture, where the combinaton of Ospreay, Scurll, KUSHIDA, and Dragon Lee should be able to hold down the fort for a while.

Tama Tonga is having a fantastic run right now. He has really come into his own as a character.
