I thought the crowd for the 15th Anniversary PPV was pretty good but most of the time the Vegas Crowds are crap. I'd like to see them hit Lowell, Massachusetts and Chicago Ridge more. And a Toronto PPV would be pretty fun too if they can get the logistics figured out.

Shouldn't be very hard to find a better venue in the Chicagoland area.
Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
So, Death Before Dishonor PPV will be on September, instead of August. That means there won't be All Star Extravaganza this year? I don't think ROH is going to do PPVs on September (DBD), October (ASE) and December (FB). Maybe they'll do the Yrok Hall show of the WOTW UK a PPV? Or will we have just 5 PPVs this year? I don't know.

My bet is that we'll get one in October. I just hope they make it GBH instead of ASE so that that show can feel important again.AlexROH wrote:So, Death Before Dishonor PPV will be on September, instead of August. Will be front row for the WOTW-UK shows in Liverpool and London. Can't say I'm overly excited at the CMLL guys announced, and not expecting too much from the NJPW guys (for reasons already specified in this thread)...and as followers of my review series will attest, I'm miles behind on the current product.
But, I really enjoyed myself at the Reach For The Sky Tour events I attended - and I'm optimistic that between the four companies (ROH/NJPW/CMLL/Rev Pro) they should be able to cobble together some decent events. I would quite like to see Kenny Omega (even in tag matches where he can take it easy)...but I'm just not sure how feasible that is.
Anyone that's going - see you there!!

Second Row London, if it wasn't for a certain persons birthday coming up I would have gone to Liverpool as well, but hey I am happy I got a good seat, and If it's anything like ROH in London last year it will be be well worth it. Happy it's Friday as well should mean I can do a whole weekend in London.
Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
I'll be in London from Thrusday to Saturday. I'll go to both York Hall shows, Summer Slizzer from RPW and WOTW UK Night 1. Hope some ROH/NJPW talent make it to the RPW show too. I'll be doing press stuff for my website so I won't know where I'll sit until the day of the show (maybe they'll give me a seat on the balcony or standing room, idk). But yes, It would be cool to see you all there!

Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
I wanted first row, but there was only one seat left and I needed two tickets so I went with the balcony. Will be there early to get in, luckily I only live around the corner from York Hall so I don't have to go far.
First ROH show since Unified. Pretty excited.

Apolo Valdés, a mexican journalist from Medio Tiempo, has announced on Twiiter that CMLL will host another edition of their International Gran Prix on September 1st. ROH and NJPW talent will be at the show. The tournamet/match it's strange, but here you have an explanation (via Wikipedia haha):
In 2008 Alex Shelley won the match/tournament. Who will ROH send? Matt Taven? The match is a 16-man elimination tag team match consisting of 2 teams of 8. It uses standard Lucha Libre tag-team rules with elimination occurring with a pinfall, submission, disqualification and count out. A special 'batting' system is also used in which the wrestlers are given a specific order and may only tag in and out in this order. If two or more men from the same team remain, they must face each other to determine one individual winner.

Soooooooo... It's the Cibernetico. Those are always fun. I'm guessing that they send Taven, maybe the other Kingdom members.AlexROH wrote:Apolo Valdés, a mexican journalist from Medio Tiempo, has announced on Twiiter that CMLL will host another edition of their International Gran Prix on September 1st. Did they announce a return for NYC?

No, but I can't recall the last time they announced a return date during the show like they used to. It kind of makes it feel like they don't have things as together as they used to. I can understand it for markets that they only run once or maybe twice a year, but for places that are (or should be) major markets like NYC, Philly, Chicago, and Toronto, they should know when they're returning before they book this next show. Such things also help with the booking (as Gabe's Book of ROH Secrets explained).

Which is kind of crazy for your biggest market.
Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
ROH has just 1 show on July (a TV Taping), how could they be so stupid? I mean, you have created a lot of buzz with Cody's win, do some shows and sell tickets -_-
Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
When the "buzz" mostly consists of people saying "Man, I can't believe they put the belt on this idiot" and/or tapping out (including you I might add), I'm not sure ROH is missing something by not throwing a El Hijo de Dusty Rhodes Extravaganza show.

Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
Yes, the longtime fans are "tapping out" but there's a lot of people who didn't care about ROH before that loved Cody's victory. So, what better way to attract newer fans than with a show? I don't know if that would be the best, but would make a lot of sense if their plan was to incrase their audience.
Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
Honest question : is there any proof that he's actually improving business (like ticket/merch sales and TV/PPV/VOD ratings, not worthless garbage like social media buzz and Youtube views) or is it just baseless bullshit to legitimize this clown's push?
I mean, I keep reading how he's this great draw based on... something and how "Hardcores might not like the guy, but..." like he's the new Cena with "He's never turning heel because he's moving so much merch and selling so many tickets and all that charity work and blablabla", but I have the hardest time to even pretend to believe it.

Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
I think if you look his general apprearances throughout the indies as well as ROH you will see a trend where his presence conincides with large gates or larger gates than the company has experienced before hand. So it's up to you what you take away from that.
Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread
No offense, but I'm more interested in actual numbers than blanket statements that mean nothing. Frankly, the fact that a random indy show is drawing more with him on the card seems to be standard fare for an ex-WWE on the indies, unless the increase is pretty massive (like 500+).
