As much as the over reliance on New Japan talent bums me out, I would still be very happy to see a Naito announcement.

Re: Official Death Before Dishonor XIV Weekend Thread
Glad to know EVIL is making a return. I hope there is some issuance of a mea culpa during his match.

Now that Cole's getting pushed, time for him to have those delayed matches against Shibata and Okada, hopefully going over one of them.

Wont Cole be busy in the main event with Lethal or is the TV taping just going to mean going into that PPV.supersonic wrote:Now that Cole's getting pushed, time for him to have those delayed matches against Shibata and Okada, hopefully going over one of them.

yesssssssssssssss!
Re: Official Death Before Dishonor XIV Weekend Thread
So Yano, Yujiro, and Shibata, all making their debuts. Very cool.
The interesting part of the article announcing Shibata's debut is that they mention Goto a bit, so I wonder if he'll be coming too. A Briscoes vs. Shibata/Goto match would be awesome.

Lol. More like Briscoes vs. Guerillas of Destiny II at DBD... what I am hopeful for is Lethal-Tanahashi for the belt.TYFDK wrote:So Yano, Yujiro, and Shibata, all making their debuts. Very cool.

You can't be serious. Yujiro is complete trash and absolutely useless since he doesn't bring a hot chick with him anymore.Big Red Machine wrote:Yujiro is great.

Unless Mao is with him, I have no use for Yujiro on ROH shows. He's regressed so much as a wrestler over the last year, and the fact that he was left out of the G1 is proof of that.

Re: Official Death Before Dishonor XIV Weekend Thread
So Dave Meltzer reported in The Wrestling Observer that ACH, Matt Sydal, The Young Bucks, & The Motor City Machine Guns won't be at the PPV/TV Tapings in Las Vegas. Sydal is in the Super J Cup, while Meltzer added that there will be some non-tournament matches that the others mentioned will probably be featured in (he didn't say all six of those guys will be on the Super J Cup show, but that some of them definitely will be).
I suppose this explains why there are seemingly so many New Japan guys for this PPV/TV Tapings weekend. Having those six guys off the PPV is definitely going to have an impact on the quality of the show, in my opinion. I'm sure it won't be too bad, given we've got Okada, Tanahashi, & Elgin returning, as well as the debut of Shibata, but I'm a little worried about this show.

I hope a lot of it is New Japan vs. New Japan, honestly.
If I can't get Briscoes vs. Shibata/Goto, the next best thing would be Elgin/Tanahashi vs. Naito/EVIL.

Re: Official Death Before Dishonor XIV Weekend Thread
It think it will depend on who ROH rounds the rest of the card off with, obviously Lethal is still to be added to the card and then if you add say Page, War Machine and say PBK, Jason Kincaid then there will be enough ROH guys and hopefully continue the stories that have been happening over the last couple of months.
I'm more worried about the TV really, as we will have two months of regular ROH TV building to the PPV, then the next day we will again have a month of TV that will mean very little to the overall product of ROH. It's really now getting to the point where ROH just needs to stop booking all the NJPW guys and focus on themselves.
Honestly, ROH goes from two steps back two steps forward to three steps back, it's just so bizarre.
