The MMA thread

Talk about anything not to do with ROH. Time limit draws don't apply here!

Condit vs Hendricks was outstnading. What a fight.

Can't wait to Jones vs Sonnen. Jones is going to shut Sonnen's mouth once and for all.
Here's the promo by NTF, btw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i35rPFu8tMo

So I've heard a lot of people talking & speculating (especially after his loss last night) about how Chael Sonnen could fit in WWE. Thoughts on this?

Soonen is the best hype-man I ever saw. He's hysterical. The Title-Shot he got last night was mostly based on how much he trashed Jones and how much how much he got people invested in seeing this match. He's perfect for WWE, look at some of his interviews:

But do you think he could be an actual in-ring talent (like Brock Lesnar) or do you seem him maybe as a manager? I only say that because people have mentioned his age when talking about this. I'd personally like to see him in the ring.

Well, he does seems to know the biz. He said he had a try-out in WCW. Plus he's a friend of CM Punk and Austin, and both could help him.

Chael would probably be a top 3 promo man in the WWE. In-ring talent who knows, but he could take a bump no doubt.

Just watched some interviews the dude is gold. He oozes charisma. If his fighting career is over (after what happened last night) then WWE should seriously consider bringing him in. The fact that he knows Punk & Austin only helps.

Holy crap UFC 160 was freaking awesome. Match of the night goes to Hunt/JDS. Wanted Hunt to win so bad because I'm a big fan of him sinec I started watching in UFC 144 so it's kinda sucks he lost but he gave a hell of a fight and my god that overhand in the beginning was nuts [cornette]
Nelson vs Hunt in the future please.

Teixeira/Jones will happen sooner than later. Looking forward to this one.

TJ Grant's knockout of Gray Maynard was unreal.

I thought Silva would never lose. It's about time someone beat him. Best of all, he got cocky during the fight and it cost him everything! Big congrats to Chris Weidman. If Silva gets an immediate rematch, it will draw big!

Wow, I figured he'd lose eventually but how appropriate it comes by way of his cocky taunting leaving him wide open. Wow. Congrats to Weidman. Guess GSP was right to not bother.

Don't follow UFC (or Bellator) that regularly, so judging from people's reactions I'd venture to say Chris Weidman KO'ing Anderson Silva is a pretty big freaking deal?

He's been champion for so long, since 2006! Occasionally someone would get close to beating him. Sonnen nearly did the first time, Henderson had a good plan to start, but they all lost in the end. It seemed like no one could take the belt from him. Anderson was unstoppable but also really cocky in his fights. Looks like it all finally came to a head here. Even Fedor lost eventually, but this was a long time coming and surprising.

If by the age of 30 Jon Jones is still undefeated(Hamil loss doesn't count), he should retire. Go out on top. Look at all he has accomplished at 24.

Why retire in your prime years? That'd be ridiculous. If GSP retired at 30 people would scoff.
