The MMA thread

Post by fm20000 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 6:07 pm

Any other huge MMA fans out there? This Saturday is UFC 143 with Nick Diaz vs Carlos Condit for the Interim title. Diaz is personally one of my favorite fighters ever so I'm pumped for this fight.

Yeah I like MMA. I don't follow it day by day or week by week but when there's a big fight coming up, I tend to try and watch it.

Infact, I made thread awhile back asking to list their favorites. Here it is: Favorite MMA Fighters. Check it out!

I am really looking forward to the UFC show this weekend, Edgar vs. Henderson should be a barn burner! Stacked card below that as well!

Take a look at my preview for it at Two Spot Monkeys: http://twospotmonkeys.blogspot.com/2012 ... eview.html

Nice preview and nice to actually see someone post in this thread lol. This show Saturday should be great. Can't wait to see a huge MMA event in Japan since PRIDE's died.

I would love to see Davey actually try to have an MMA fight one day. I guarantee him getting destroyed within one round by any credible fighter.

Obviously he would, because he's not an MMA fighter. Most MMA fighters would injure themselves in a pro wrestling match because they wouldn't have a clue what to do.

What I mean is what's the point of him and O'Reilly training Jiu-Jitsu and all this BS they talk about 24/7 if they won't and can't do anything with it?

And actually some MMA fighters have easily made the transition to pro wrestling. Ken Shamrock for one and this event http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fight_For_ ... isoko_2011 in Japan had a lot of MMA fighters having pro wrestling matches with no real training.

Anyone else as excited for the UFC in Japan event as I am? It's featuring seven fights on the main card with the main event being for the lightweight title when Ben Henderson challenges Frankie Edgar. It looks like an great card and I can't wait for it.

Every fight on this show looks great. Even the pre show has Takanori Gomi and Kid Yamamoto on it.

Anyone got picks? I've got Bendo, Rampage, Kongo, Shields, Okami, Hioki and Pettis on the main card.

It was a great night of fights. I'm disappointed that Edgar lost as he is one of my favorites to watch, but Henderson deserved that win. And the fact that Henderson tried an enzuigiri made me mark out so hard. Almost every fight was exciting, and there were some crazy knockouts. They also need to bring the Japanese ring girl in full time.

I love mma. I was pissed that I didn't get a chance to see Edgar vs. Henderson last week. Thankfully, I had my fill of mma this weekend. I'm still shocked about how long it took for Miesha Tate to tap out. I wanted to throw in the towel!! Thoughts on Friday and Saturday night?

I'm not squeamish, but that was making me freak out. An arm should never bend that way for any reason. She proved how tough she was by lasting as long as she did. That has to be Submission of the Year, if an award like that even exists.
