Official Bound By Honor: Lakeland Thread

Post by AlexROH »

Results by PWInsider:

On Saturday night, Ring of Honor held their latest television tapings from Lakeland, Florida. Here is what happened on episodes that will likely start airing on March 3rd:

In a Future of Honor Match, Vinny Pacifico defeated Beach Body Ryan with a rollup.

Match Number One: Ring of Honor Television Champion Jeff Cobb defeated Silas Young

Match Number Two: Rush defeated Vinny Marseglia with a drop kick in the corner

Ring of Honor Six Man Tag Team Champions The Kindgom came to the ring and Matt Taven says that there is a man in this company who claims to be the Ring of Honor World Champion but there is only one World Champion and it is him. Matt wonders why does this company put Lethal on a pedestal. Matt says he will do something that Jay will not do, and he will put his title on the line against anyone who is not named Jay Lethal.

Out comes Jonathan Gresham and that leads to . . .

Match Number Three: Jonathan Gresham defeats Matt Taven by disqualification when Vinnie Marseglia and TK O’Ryan interfere.

After the match, Ring of Honor World Champion Jay Lethal comes to the ring to help Gresham. Eventually, Lethal and Taven square off and battle until Lifeblood (Juice Robinson, Mark Haskins, Tenille Dashwood, Tracy Williams, and Bandido) come out and force The Kingdom to leave the ring.

Tenille gets on the mic and says that every time Matt Taven comes out with his title belt, it is an insult to the wrestlers. Tenille says something has to be done to the belt and Jay Lethal destroys it with TK O’Ryan’s bat and Vinnie Marseglia’s axe.

Match Number Four: Mayu Iwatani defeated Holidead with a moonsault.

After the match, Kelly Klein came to the ring with her associates and there was a tug of war between Iwatani and Klein over the belt until Iwatani took it from Klein. Klein took it back and left the ring. Her associates confronted Iwatani and Iwatani took care of them.

This was probably the end of the first episode

Match Number Five: Kenny King defeated Dalton Castle (with The Boys)

After the match, King cut a promo where he mentions that he made a former champion bend a knee to him but the current champion does not have the balls to face him. He also mentions Marty Scurll and says that what you just saw is going to happen when they meet in Las Vegas.

Matt Taven came out and said that he was here by himself to confront Jay Lethal. Lethal comes to the ring but Vinnie Marseglia and TK O’Ryan attack him from behind.

Match Number Six: Mark Briscoe, Jay Briscoe, and Silas Young defeated Cheeseburger, Eli Isom, and Ryan Nova when Jay pinned Isom after a Jay Driller

Joe Keys and Brian Johnston come out and cut a promo insulting the people of Lakeland and they make a challenge.

Match Number Seven: Beer City Bruiser and Brian Milonas defeated Joe Keys and Brian Johnston when Milonas pinned Johnston after a leg drop from the turnbuckles.

Match Number Eight: Madison Rayne defeated Thunder Rosa (with Holidead) with a reverse DDT.

Match Number Nine: Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Rocky Romero with an abdominal stretch.

Match Number Ten: Women of Honor Champion Kelly Klein defeated Stella Grey to defend the title by referee stoppage.

Caprice Coleman comes out to discuss the Crockett Cup on April 27th and how it will see tag teams from all over the world including the NWA, Ring of Honor, CMLL, and New Japan. He mentions that he did not see Nick Aldis listed among the teams and wonders what he is going to do.

NWA World Champion Nick Aldis comes to the ring and he mentions that he has been a little busy over the last few days but he talked about how he used to be part of a tag team, so for one night, he is ready to go back into tag team wrestling for the Crockett Cup. He says there is only one man who could be his partner.

Marty Scurll comes out and he says that all of his friends are dead. talks about how fifteen years ago, he asked Nick for a ride as a favor and they travelled the roads together and look where they are now. He mentions that as a team they could be unstoppable so he would love to stand in the same ring as Nick . . . but across the ring as opponents for the NWA World Championship. He tells Nick to be the best champion, you have to face the top of the food chain. He asks Nick for another favor and give him a shot at the NWA Championship.

Nick says that if he wants to be the best NWA Champion, he has to beat the best so he accepts the challenge.

Match Number Eleven: Bandido, Tracy Williams, and Juice Robinson (with Tenille Dashwood) defeated Dalton Castle and The Boys when Bandido pinned one of The Boys with a slingshot German suplex.

Match Number Twelve: NWA National Champion Willie Mack defeated Rhett Titus to retain the championship with a frog splash.

Match Number Thirteen: Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham defeated Coast 2 Coast when Gresham pinned Ali after a cutter.

Match Number Fourteen: PCO and Marty Scurll defeated Vinnie Marseglia and TK O’Ryan when Scurll forced Marseglia to tap to the crossface chicken wing.

After the match, Marty Scurll got on the mic and mentioned that one member of Villain Enterprises was not here and it was because Brody King was having a baby. Scurll then put over PCO for what he does in the ring every night at age 51.

So they give Rocky a surprising pin over a former ROH World Champion to earn a TV Title match, and then just job him out the whole way until the title shot?

So here’s how I’m seeing the card play out so far for the 17th Anniversary Show:

ROH World Championship
Jay Lethal vs. Matt Taven

ROH World Tag Team Championship
Briscoes vs. Brody King & PCO

ROH World Televison Championship
Jeff Cobb vs. Shane Taylor

ROH World Women’s Championship
Mayu Iwatani vs. Kelly Klein

Kenny King vs. Marty Scurll

That’s 5 right there, and so far in this Miami show I’m not seeing much more of a card so far.

Is it kind of sad that you and I are the ones commenting in here - and were usually way too negative to even be wasting our time commenting? Haha
