I'm sorry, but I just can't stand when they take someone like Rocky Romero and try to point them as this sort of all-time great. Everyone hates it when WWE does it, so why does ROH think it's a good idea to copy this tactic that so many people find obnoxious?

Three-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, GUERRILLAS OF DESTINY, recently captured and then lost the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships to War Machine. With War Machine signed to compete in Atlanta, what brings G.O.D., one of the most physically dominating teams in New Japan history, back to ROH?

Are G.O.D. looking to extract revenge on War Machine? Or will they look to build on the singles momentum Tama Tonga is building following a victory over former ROH World Champion Michael Elgin and standout efforts against IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega, and Minoru Suzuki in the G1?

What is next for the three-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions in their ROH return in Atlanta – join us to find out!

Can we please stop bringing in New Japan scrubs to waste TV time with? Romero is barely acceptable. The Guerrillas are barely tolerable in New Japan, let alone in ROH.

I don't think they're going to have a particularly good match due to the atrocious time constraints that ROH's booking puts on its TV matches, and part of the reason those time constraints exist is an over-inflated roster, and bringing these guys in just compounds the problem. And even if this wasn't the case, there is still no benefit to ROH using these guys when they should be spending the time developing their own talent. How many Cedrics, Dijaks, ACHs, and Lio Rushes (and I'd even throw Jay White and Punishment Martinez on that pile) are we going to have to go through before the people in charge realize that this is a major problem.

He's accomplished a hell of a lot:
1X IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion
1X NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion
3X CMLL World Super Lightweight Champion
3X Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champion
8X IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion (most all time)

Roppongi Vice, No Remorse Corps, Forever Hooligans, The Rottweillers. Four great tag teams with four different partners. Long career spanning major promotions in the three biggest wrestling markets (US, Japan, Mexico).

He's one of the best junior heavyweights in my book. I have no problem with Rocky being billed as a legend.

I don't consider the Hooligans ROH tag title reign to matter much. I doubt they would have even won the belts if the next show wasn't in Canada and one half of the tag champs wasn't going to be able to get into the country, and New Japan's Jr. Heavyweight tag belts don't really mean much, either. The action is great, but there are no stories, title shots are rarely earned, and it doesn't really matter who has the belts at any given point in time. It's been three years since a team was able to defend them more than three times.
On the whole, I'm not saying Rocky hasn't accomplished a lot, but he's not a legend the way you would think of, like, Liger or Dragon or Joe or Nigel or Fujinami. He's like Togi Makabe. He's done a lot and had a great career and I think he's a really good wrestler, but calling him a "legend" feels like a stretch.

Big Red Machine offered critique of the product and you’re shunting both the conversation as well as the poster. It’s hostile and puerile behavior. I don’t like seeing it.

Back to the topic, Rocky Romero is someone I respect more than I enjoy, especially in a 2017’s singles. Perhaps that copy might have been more effective if Romero weren’t already a frequenter of the company or so often involved in nothing programs.

I'd rather see him in a singles role than doing his same tired Forever Hooligans/Roppongi Vice comedy spots, but you make a very good about about him having been involved in nothing feuds. I'd say a bit of a singles run would be good for him, but I don't trust the current booking team to do it well (rather than give him a few wins to build him up for a title shot they'll just have him go 50/50 and then justify his title shot by telling us he's such a legend) and if he is going to be in Japan half of the time then I think it will be even harder to make him feel like anything more than another New Japan guy being brought in to fill up a spot on the card.

I think a big part of the problem is that they're not quite sure if Cody is a babyface or a heel. If I had to guess right now, I'd say it will be Dalton Castle, but that's more because I think it's something they would want to do rather than because they've been building in that direction at all.

Glad to see your compunction for being so needlessly antagonistic--time and time again we see your colors. When you are asked about your general poor behavior, you should probably stop and reflect.

The Honor Rumble will be returning at Center Stage:
The Best Wrestling on the Planet returns to historic Center Stage for an international TV taping featuring the hard-hitting, fast-paced, in-your-face action that only Ring of Honor can provide! All of your favorite ROH stars will compete in one of wrestling’s most-notable venues, highlighted by the return of Atlanta’s own, the ROH World Champion as of press time, “The American Nightmare” Cody!

Tickets are nearly sold out – if you are on the fence about seeing the stars of Ring of Honor, do not delay! Limited tickets remain! In addition to the current ROH World Champion Cody, the current ROH World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks, Jay Lethal, “Pro Wrestling’s Last Real Man” Silas Young, “The Villain” Marty Scurll, Kenny King, Bully Ray, the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions War Machine, and so many more will be in action!

The first match has been signed and it is one of GIGANTIC proportions!

HONOR RUMBLE – WINNER GETS A SHOT LATER THAT NIGHT IN ATLANTA

All of your favorite ROH stars will compete in an HONOR RUMBLE with the winner going on to face the winner of War of the Worlds – Liverpool’s match between ROH World Champion “American Nightmare” Cody and Sanada later that night!

Last year, “Pro Wrestling’s Last Real Man” Silas Young went the distance, entering at number one and eliminating Jay Lethal to win the Honor Rumble and future world title shot. Atlanta will feature the seventh Honor Rumble and stars are already lining up to compete for an opportunity to win the ROH World Championship later that night!

In 2011, Jay Lethal won the Honor Rumble in Spartanburg, SC and has proved that he is built for matches like this! But the man who has had the most success is two-time Honor Rumble winner Mark Briscoe, who co-won the Honor Rumble in 2009 at the 2300 Arena with his brother Jay and won again four years later in Hopkins, MN at ROH A New Dawn!

Which ROH star will make the most of this golden opportunity and earn an ROH World Title match to be fought later that night? Be there to find out!

Totally agree. Who the fuck would you have win other than Punishment Martinez. Roster is just shit. Cody has no challengers.
