My best friend died today.
I never wanted to write out those words. My heart is broken. The world saw him as the amazing @brodielee (fka Luke Harper) but he was my best friend, my husband, and the greatest father you would ever meet. No words can express the love I feel or how broken I am right now. He passed surrounded by love ones after a hard fought battle with a non Covid related lung issue. The @mayoclinic is literally the best team of doctors and nurses in the world who surrounded me with constant love.
On top of that, I can’t express my love and admiration for the way @allelitewrestling has treated not only my husband but myself and my kids. @margaret.stalvey @meghalegalgirl10 @americannightmarecody @thebrandirhodes @nickjacksonyb @mattjackson13 @kennyomegamanx @tonyrkhan and the rest of the team at AEW have helped keep me standing and pick up all the broken pieces.
I’ve been surrounded by so much love and incredible people I can’t tag them all but they know who they are and I don’t think they will ever know how thankful I am for them.

Shocking and terrible news. 41 year old father and husband gone. There are no words.

The only ROH match of his career that's been uploaded, and while nowhere near a classic, it's worth seeing and might be his best in the promotion.

Such sad news, the outpouring from so many says more than I ever can really. The person he was and the impact he had on the people he met along the way and the family he clearly loved was so special and like so many in wrestling he has left the world far too young.

This is a monumental loss for so many. I first met Brodie in 2006 or 2007, he was consistently a gentlemen beyond reason. For as scary as he looked in character he was that gentle of a human being. He LOVED his family, and the only thing he loved more than his family was talking about them.
Personally, I was at his ROH debut in NJ the same night Gabe got fired. In the coming years, when he wrestled Ziggler at a PPV in a ladder match in Cleveland, I was able to see him shortly after he came through the curtain. I remarked how we're a long way from the Inman Sports Arena, he laughed and just said "Yep." He will be missed far more than the average fan will realize.

I just wanted to chime in, and say I love the tribute to Brodie here. It’s nice to see people being civilized and discussing his career and life with the respect it deserves.

What a beautiful tribute AEW did. This was the show of the year. Maybe show of the decade. It had everything we needed... mourn, cheer, laugh & say goodbye.

That was an amazing show last night from AEW to show respect and pay tribute to one Brodie Lee.

Re: RIP JON HUBER (BRODIE LEE/LUKE HARPER) (1979-2020)
The show really was fantastic. The best show AEW has ever done in my opinion. Beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
2020 was a terrible year in most respects, but the wrestling industry got hit especially hard. Probably missing a few but:
Hana Kimura dead at 22
Danny Havoc dead at 34
Adam Bueller dead at 36
Shad Gaspard dead at 39
Black Demon dead at 39
Brodie Lee dead at 41
Justice Pain dead at 41
Xavier dead at 42
The Bruiser dead at 44
Puppet dead at 51
Big Slam dead at 54
La Parka dead at 55 (the second AAA La Parka, not the former La Parka now known as LA Park)
Kat LeRoux dead at 55
Kevin Greene dead at 58
Tracy Smothers dead at 58
Road Warrior Animal dead at 60
Tommy "Zeus" Lister dead at 62
Wynona Littleheart dead at 64
Rip Oliver dead at 67
Howard Finkel dead at 69
Mark Somaini dead at 69
Herodes dead at 69
Mark Rocco (original Black Tiger) dead at 69
Kamala dead at 70
Bobby Lee dead at 70
Kazuo Sakurada dead at 71
Rocky Johnson dead at 75
Bullet Bob Armstrong dead at 80
Wayne Bridges dead at 84
Johnny Walker dead at 85
Tony Russo dead at 85
Danny Hodge dead at 88
Pampero Firpo dead at 89
People whose ages I don't know that also died:
RJ Meyer
Ryan Smile
Steve Casey
Ares el Guerrero
Dick Steinborn
Karsten Beck
Mitch Ryder
Principe Aereo
Steve Gillespie
Supreme
Timothy Brooks
Z-Barr
They're all sad but the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Shad Gaspard, Hana Kimura, Brodie Lee, Xavier, and La Parka are especially gut-wrenching to me.
