Observer:
The Knight Family (“Fighting with My Family”) set up a Go Fund Me to raise money saying the promotion has no income because they can’t run shows or keep their training school open and can’t afford to reopen
Both Michael Elgin and Austin Aries returned to wrestling on 2/20 for a show for Global Syndicate Wrestling called Inception held at the Monster Factory in Paulsboro, NJ and carried on FITE. Aries looked great, but ended up being talked about a lot over the weekend because he did an autograph signing without wearing a mask, and also told people in line that they shouldn’t be wearing masks either. The main event was to create the GSW world title and Aries lost to Alexander Hammerstone. The show was said to be really good. They set up matches on 5/22 with Elgin vs. Jacob Fatu and Hammerstone defending against Chris Dickinson

Randall Barry Orton, the uncle of the current Randy Orton and son of Bob Orton Sr., passed away yesterday at the age of 62.

Orton, who wrestled under names like Barry Orton, Berry Orton, Barry O, Superstar Barry O and the masked Zodiak, was best known in wrestling in 1991 and 1992 for being in the media spotlight in talking about issues in pro wrestling and claiming Terry Garvin, who at the time worked in Talent Relations with Pat Patterson, tried to sexually harass him on a car ride while he was a teenager breaking in wrestling in the Amarillo territory in the late 70s

This led to appearances on shows like Phil Donahue, Larry King and Geraldo Rivera shows, including two confrontations with Vince McMahon, who tried to discredit him on the air noting he had served time in prison for being involved in an auto accident where somebody had died and was writing a book. Garvin and Mel Phillips had been let go by McMahon shortly before the show aired, and Patterson resigned.

He was one of the first wrestlers to befriend Tom Cole, who passed away recently and had claimed Phillips came on to him when he was a teenager working for the ring crew, which Phillips was the supervisor of.

Orton foiled McMahon's attempt for a Perry Mason-like moment on the Donahue show as McMahon had planted Cole, who he had just secretly settled out of court in the days leading to the show, in the audience at the show with Linda McMahon and Liz "Elizabeth" Hulette if his name was mentioned by the panel before the show. Cole was to then say how the panel members who made claims about McMahon were lying and that he was Tom Cole. Orton, in the green room, noted that Cole had become incommunicado with him for a few days and had an intuition something funny was up and told others on the show not to mention Cole's name on the air.

That largely ended Orton's wrestling career at the age of 33. He was a good in-ring performer and strong talker who was a headliner in 1987 in Stampede Wrestling under a mask as The Zodiak, taking after his father who used the Zodiac name under a mask.

Zodiak & Jason the Terrible wrestled all the top babyfaces in the promotion, including Owen Hart, as well as the tag team of Bad Company (Bruce Hart & Brian Pillman) and future Hall of Famer, Senator and Cabinet member Hiroshi Hase, and future legend Jushin Liger as Fuji Yamada.

He worked two stints in the WWF, both as a prelim wrestler and television enhancement talent as Barry O. He worked 1985-86, and after spending time in prison, returned in 1990 and 1991 in a similar role.

As a wrestler, he held the Americas tag team championship at the age of 19 teaming with Hector Guerrero, and formed a tag team with brother Bob and held the Southeastern tag team championship with the Poffo family's ICW promotion. He also had a run as Jody Hamilton's partner in a remake of The Masked Assassins in Jim Crockett Promotions.

He had felt that making public revelations about the industry ended his career and transitioned into acting, where he appeared in a number of movies.

Surprised no one had noticed, but Joey Ryan's YouTube, which had 600k subscribers making it one of the largest wrestling channels, was shut down because of copyright infringement sometime last month. March 13 is the last date SocialBlade lists any stats.

I know several promotions had publicly complained about him using their footage on the channel and he had posted footage from a certain ape themed promotion that is very protective of their footage as well.

As of October 2019, Joey Ryan's YouTube, which was also Bar Wrestling's YouTube, was the 5th most popular wrestling channel per Flagged Sports. Bigger than NJPW, ROH, and AAA. - https://t.co/nJdPpJkMQ7?amp=1

I never understood dudes watching womens wrestling as a fetish. If you wanna see actual hot chicks getting naked, it takes 5 seconds to find it.

Comparing apples to oranges though. If you like Mandy Leon, can you search pornhub and see her naked? Tessa Blanchard? Taelar Hendrix? Velvet Sky?

Most wrestling chicks haven’t done porn or nude modeling. Very swallow of you to assume that dudes are only watching women’s wrestling as a fetish or to beat off.

Also, I would wager a lot of lesbians or “bi-curious” women watch women’s wrestling too.

There was a Hania the Huntress match that had almost 4 million views few years back. (probably much more now). Dudes watching that match weren't watching for the quality because she is garbage in the ring. I don't understand how you sit thru the terrible wrestling just be see her ass cheeks a few times.

The 4 women you mentioned, Mandy, is the only one who is truly hot for a chick...the rest are average at best when compared to all women not just female wrestlers. I love Brie Larson....you think i'm sitting thru a movie i dont wanna see just to see her? Nope. I didn't even watch her marvel movie cause i'm not into that stuff.

Well, if you really like Hania, and she doesn’t have any porn vids, you’re best shot of seeing her in “action” might be that wrestling match.

If you find someone attractive, you might not sit through a 2 hour movie, but you would a 10 minute match.

Observer:
Andrade El Idolo vs. Alberto El Patron has been announced for a 7/31 show in McAllen, TX, that also includes the former Primo, Epico and Kalisto. It is beyond mind-boggling that in an industry that has essentially blackballed certain people out of it over the past year, and all to a degree have some evidence of improper behavior, and a fan base that tried to do the same with people who literally did nothing wrong in other cases, that Alberto can get bookings anywhere. At the minimum they should wait until his trial is over. Alberto also told Super Luchas that he will be restarting the NLL promotion in Mexico later this year

You've made it clear that you don't give a flying fuck what any of these carnies do besides the quality of bread-and-circuses they provide you with as a consumer. All of your other stances are just excuses to cover for that.

Alberto has a long history of problematic behavior that leads many to the educated conclusion that the alleged San Antonio victim was paid off and/or intimidated into recanting and apologizing. He has come across very psychotic and almost cartel-like in the past several years in both his statements and his actions, and stand outs as a an exceptionally chronic bullshitter in an industry rooted in chronic bullshitters.

For a great example of Alberto's bullshitting, as well as evidence to have blacklisted him for strictly business reasons (regardless of one's own moral compass) - https://www.thesportster.com/news/del-r ... derground/
