Can I express my displeasure at the stupid casino graphics? It's not supposed to be about the Vegas part; it's supposed to be about ROH's anniversary, and they're painfully cliche to boot. I'm also shocked they keep giving Vegas these big shows when they're drawing much better in the Northeast and Midwest. I'd even be open to trying to draw a big crowd for your first show in a new market via giving them a big show like this, but why do they keep going back to Vegas for shows like this when they could be running NYC or Boston of Chicago or Philly (it is the flippin' anniversary show, after all).

Doesn't Sam's Town pay them to run there?

I guess they like Vegas for the "Anniversary" show because Vegas is associated with marriage anniversary trips somewhat.

They have a multi year deal with Sam's Town.

Also, local Vegas promotion Future Stars of Wrestling, is running Sam's Town on March 11th. ROH is running on the 9th and 10th. FSW is bringing in Jushin Liger for the 11th show. I'm hoping that this mean's ROH brings in Jushin Liger for their shows.

Liger vs Flip would be ace.

Actually, the FSW show will be held at the Cannery in North Las Vegas. Not the most convenient thing for anyone, but Sam's Town had the arena booked the whole weekend.

My mistake, at Death Before Dishonor and last years Anniversary Show FSW ran at Sam's Town the same weekend. Regardless Liger is gonna be in Vegas that weekend. I hope they book him I really do.

Exactly. So why are they wasting a PPV on an already assured (and relatively small) house when they could run the PPV somewhere more lucrative and make just as much by running Vegas for any other random show?

Perhaps the deal is contingent on a big show, or perhaps they wouldn't be able to sell the tickets for the same prices without it being a big show.

It's all good, I only found out about the different venue earlier that evening myself. Still prefer Sam's Town, just since it's a lot closer to my home.

I'm really interested to see how the undercard is going to play out on this show. I feel like I have a good idea of where the title matches are headed in terms of match-ups. I wonder too, with Manhattan Mayhem being just a few days ahead of this...how might that play into the build for this event.

This is from the most recent Observer
The 3/9 16th Anniversary show PPV from Sam’s Town in Las Vegas, a Friday night show, will have Dalton Castle vs. Jay Lethal for the ROH title, Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley vs. Mark & Jay Briscoe for the tag titles, Young Bucks & Hangman Page vs. Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky for the six-man titles, Punishment Martinez vs. Marty Scurll, Cody vs. Matt Taven and Flip Gordon against a wrestler from New Japan as the top matches
Gordon vs Liger perhaps? Not who I'd like to see against Liger, I'd rather see Gresham vs Liger.

I'd like it to be Liger. I've said this many times before, but Liger's as special attraction as special attractions come. Inevitably hes going to retire, so the more ROH can bring him in the better IMO. ROH is essentially the promotion I think most people associate him to in the States the last decade.

I wonder what lead to the former match being announced? It should deliver, but it's a pretty random match to put on PPV.

Not so sure Meltzer has the card right here. The recent tapings indicated that Flip may be in a different program for the PPV.

Also from last Saturday one of ROH's top stars suddenly found themselves without a program. SPOILERS Silas /SPOILERS. Maybe he might be going up against whoever New Japan is bringing in?

Would they have him face Liger AGAIN on PPV though?
