Yeah, there is an inherent problem with that. I can see Delirious having an itchy trigger finger like Gabe did on the old forum and deleting posts like a true fascist.
Here you have a freedom to express yourself. Plus you have the added bonus of Wilson admonishing monster mafia. Life is good here.

I will post there if there are good discussions to be had but I'm not leaving here either way.

I'm happy to share my retro reviewing content on that forum, which would serve as a MAJOR recommendation guide for the library, but I'm not paying a fucking penny to do so.

This. I wasn't aware Gabe would do such things, but I started lurking there towards the very end of his run so maybe I missed it. Either way, I don't see Delirious allowing much criticism. I would give it a chance if I was willing to pay for Honor Club (at this moment, I'm not), but I certainly wouldn't give this place up for that.Mr. Mojo Risin wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 7:12 pm Yeah, there is an inherent problem with that. I highly doubt Delirious will have anything to do with the forum. It'll most likely be Ian Ricabboni assisting in the handling of it.
Re: Something Not Discussed Here About HonorClub
When the news made way I had half a mind to photoshop the iconic Undertaker/faker staredown between the two forums. But, as is my tendency, I procrastinated.
Honestly, I hope that forum does run off the ground and take off. I'm interested to see if the tone between official and (what I suppose is now) our renegade boards, as well the assured cross-section. If you've been reading my posts for any extended period of time, you'll know how I feel about Ring of Honor today, but I would be really keen on seeing concentrated discussion on ROH with greater volume because I just don't see criticality/encomium proportional to ROH's growing fanbase, which I think should finally happen with the official board. I may not post there--especially with my attenuating investment in the product--but I'll definitely lurk.
As for the oversight of the new board, as long as they have a decent moderating team and aren't just some propagandist arm, I feel confident that it'll be fine. And with the way GST has handled the editorial at ROHWorld, I think this forum will be relevant for some time as well.

This is going to be key.
What messaging they promote and what they will allow will go a long way in determining if those involved find value in it or if it is a corporate machine-driven thing.
The original ROH board was great because it was organic and fostered great conversation and allowed a lot of cool things to be discussed in real time. This was a time before Twitter and Facebook, which would be and do compete with that thinking now. Another thought, is people who sign up might not be into the idea of conversation on a message board platform. It will be interesting to see if we can gauge a comparison of total number registered "Honor Club" members vs. those who enroll in their offered message board.

My instinct says that "mainstream" (lets use that code-word) fans who haven't already sought out a forum won't really be inclined to post in one just because it's official and free with your membership. I'm curious to see how many of these "casual/mainstream" ROH fans actually sign up in the first place... or, perhaps just as tellingly, how many of them sign up but then quit after the first year because they find the house shows not to be worth watching because it's the same stuff they get when ROH comes to their town and they don't need to see it every two week. It will tell whether this new style has become a "house show" product, which doesn't seem conducive to a streaming service that wants you to watch as much as possible (otherwise it's basically a video library and a discount on the PPVs).Wilson wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 11:36 am When the news made way I had half a mind to photoshop the iconic Undertaker/faker staredown between the two forums. The HonorClub forum will be more of a mark forum. Think the people who frequently comment on wrestli g Facebook posts.
