This is eerily how I feel about Being the Elite in ROH these days. No one's going to talk about how bullshit Stephen Amell being in a main event match of a big show starring Kenny Omega is? ROH's main storytelling thrust is being dragged along by a week-to-week improv internet sketch show starring Jackson's best buddies. This is so weak.

Hope the undercard at least put on a good show.
ROH doesn’t take itself seriously anymore, so I’m content with it being a glorified vanity/vacation for the NJPW stars. NJPW has come closest to carrying the serious business torch held by ROH and NOAH during the 2000s.
I will agree with that assessment.

He said: “It was brought to my attention that Floslam or Floslam representatives were fraudulently covering our San Antonio event yesterday, streaming video and posting photos to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This has created an illusion that we are somehow working with them. Ring of Honor are in no way affiliated with Floslam and their actions yesterday were unauthorized.“
Wow. I thought Floslam were incompetent fucks for the Evolve deal, but that's just hillbilly dumb. I hope Sinclair sues the shit out of them.

So from what I can tell from Twitter...

Andy Dalton beat Lou Gotti in a Future of Honor match.

MCMG vs. Rey Cometa and Esfinge turned into a 4-way tag when The Dawgs and Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser were added. Not sure if it was still for the titles or not. MCMG won.

There was a flaming table used in the Texas Death Match.

EVOLVE is much more serious than New Japan. No Yano.

Quick results from @gagaart1:

- Kenny King def. Scorpio Sky
- Taven def. Cheese
- Flip def. O'Ryan
- Gresham def. Marseglia
- MCMG def. CMLL, Dawgs and Bruiser/Silas
- Scurll def. Woods
- Lethal/Dalton def. Bucks
- Cody def. Daniels

Described as a great show with a great crowd. Best matches in order were --> Cody vs Daniels (one of Cody's best matches), Bucks vs Lethal/Dalton and O'Ryan vs Flip. Kazarian posted on his Twitter that he has flying back to his home in LA (I don't know why), so the card changed a little. Since Bruiser was at the tag match, people thought they weren't going to see Marty, so when he showed up, the crowd exploded.

SOTF Finals for today -> Martinez vs Silas vs Taylor vs Taven vs Flip vs Gresham. I'm all in for Silas winning and him having a title match at the Anniversary next year.

So if Frankie is out, that leaves Dalton without a match. And I'm still doubting Daniels is competing a day after receiving what looks like 2nd degree burns. So Scurll is out of a match. I don't think they'll do Scurll/Dalton, but since they couldn't do it yesterday, maybe they'll do Scurll/Bruiser tonight.

I really like that the six guys in the finals are all guys who would be greatly elevated with a win.

I know hindsight and all, but if you're going to do a fire spot, wear the right clothing and protect yourself. The reports seem to make it that the entire match was strongly built, and then had this really unique, and consequential, crescendo. Kudos to the work put in, though, more importantly, please never do this spot again.

A few days ago I was going to make a joke that Daniels was showing ass to a degree that made him the equivalent of Gedo to Cody's Okada, creative talent written in to be so unremittingly beneath their project that their own star power just plummets. As the veteran with limited mileage left, Daniels should be decisively putting over Cody, but the amount that's being done here is hyperbolic. Daniels was a World Champion in June and will be opening Final Battle in a few weeks.

The finals of Martinez vs Silas vs Taylor vs Taven vs Flip vs Gresham is mostly written as the right people but it sorely lacks at least one or two legitimate stars. (For example, replacing Taylor with Scurll would have been a great option, doubly so for not having all of the Final Battle TV Title contenders in one match.) Hear! hear! on Silas finally winning something. With Castle winning the Soaring Eagle Cup, Scurll/Lethal at Final Battle, and the inevitably fresh challenger tonight, ROH will have a stock of directions to keep the World Title going for at least the next few months.

I think he’s just tacking onto what you said.

I’m hoping if Silas or Taven win, that Dalton will win at Final Battle. Silas/Castle would be a good 16YA main event, especially considering their history in Las Vegas. Taven/Castle would be pretty good too, considering they’ve wrestled each other on tiny indies, and to main event a PPV together would be a good story for them.

Yeah I am in the same boat. Taven and Silas are true heels and perfect opponents for Castle should he win the title.
