Favorite Title Matches?
Roh has had a lot of WHC belt holders. While I think Joe, Dragon, and Punk were the best champions, every champion has had a few great matches. What are everyones favorite Champions, and title fights? Off the top of my head,
Samoa Joe
-American Dragon. Midnight Express Reunion- I think it's the best Joe match of his reign next to the Punk series.
-Homicide. Death b4 Dishonor II- Most intense Joe/Homicide match. One of the feuds that got me into ROH.
Dragon'
-Strong. This means War.- While I think the Vendetta match was better this one had the better ending.
-Delirious. 100th Show. Dragon just brutalizes him. Awesome.
Morishima
-Shingo. Just a smash fest, and how often do Dragon Gate and Noah wrestle each other?
-Albright/Claudio. Morishima had too crazy matches in one weekend. Half Nelson was insane!

Austin Aries
-James Gibson. Stalemate/Final Showdown both were awesome.
-Joe. Third Year. The Rematch
Dragon
-Sonjat Dutt. DBD4 Crowd was insane.
-Lance Storm. Just really good match
Morishima
-The squashes. SQUASH title matches!
sidenote:
Could somebody please just briefly elaborate on Jerry Lynn, Aries II, Black, Roddy, and Edwards as Champions? Seemed like they hot shotted the belt around after I stopped following.

Re: Favorite Title Matches?
^Lynn won the title off Nigel to play off "The Wrestler" as it was around the time it was getting a lot of Oscar buzz. However Lynn's reign was quite mediocre and they needed to end it. Aries was probably the only choice at the time as Tyler's credibility at that time had dropped and Aries new gimmick was by far the best thing in the company at the time. Also Aries made a great figure head for the HDNET show. In the meantime Black was rebuilt up and took the belt off Aries (although it should have happened at FB 09 and had it happened then rather than at the anniversary show, the FB match probably wouldnt be so disliked by many). Black held it for a while but then got the WWE offer, so ROH gave the belt to Roddy. Then he had it for a little while and lost it somewhat suprisingly to Eddie when many thought it was Davey's time. Then Davey beat Eddie making Eddie's reign a tad bit of a waste.

Re: Favorite Title Matches?
I've only seen the 1st show to world title classic, and 2011 on...I'd say my favorite so far has been joe/punk from wtc and joe/homicide from do or die...Also, Richards/Edwards from best in the world was really good from the newer stuff i've seen.
Re: Favorite Title Matches?
I love Shingo! If I could bring one guy from Dragon Gate over it would be him. That match was perfect for what it was. Would have thought we'd see A NOAH vs. a Dragon Gate wrestler for the Ring Of Honor World Title.WrestlingMatters wrote:Glad to see the Morishima/Shingo match getting some love, super fun match with a terrific crowd.

Re: Favorite Title Matches?
My all time favorite title match might be Joe vs. Punk III. That match to me had such a huge fight atmosphere in a era I still consider early ROH.
Tomato cans don't stand a chance.
Re: Favorite Title Matches?
Here's an underrated one:
Samoa Joe
Colt Cabana. Death Before Dishonor II part 2. Crazy match, and surprisingly pretty even. Cabana smacks Joe with a chair and hits an Ole kick of his own. Ends with a monstrous Muscle Buster.

Re: Favorite Title Matches?
I enjoyed Lynn's first title defense, for what it's worth. Him v. Danielson/Stevens/Brown was pretty fun, if I remember correctly. It was from Take No Prisoners '09, the last PPV-on-TV from ROH.
Re: Favorite Title Matches?
Lynn's four-way with Dragon/Aries/Black on HDNet was pretty good.
There's a lot of gaps in my collection, and Lynn's reign is down to him winning the belt and losing it, and I'm still to catch up with Roddy and Eddie.
