It will be a great match but when i looked at the wrestlers signed to appear, i was expecting Jay Briscoe vs. Okada.
Re: Official Death Before Dishonor XIV Weekend Thread
Field of Honor looks so much better than this show.

Don't be silly. Then Jay Briscoe would have to lose, and we can't have that unless it's to Jay Lethal (or that one time to Michael Elgin that they never talk about even though it was in the finals of SOTF).AssShooter wrote:It will be a great match but when i looked at the wrestlers signed to appear, i was expecting Jay Briscoe vs. Okada.

Potentially concerning news regarding Shibata:
@STRIGGA Jul 28
According to Tokyo Sports Katsuyori Shibata has been diagnosed with a right shoulder acromioclavicular joint subluxation and ...

... and a rotator cuff damage. On top of that he has several other injuries stemming from his NEVER Title matches earlier this year.

Shibata wrestled today and is still scheduled to face Tetsuya Naito on Saturday. He's competing with tape on his shoulder & left knee.

Shibata had this to say about his injuries after this morning's G1 Climax show:
@reasonjp 6h6 hours ago
Shibata 'knee injury? Shoulder injury? Doesn't matter. I still have a right leg and a left arm! That's all!' #g126

Yep. All five of those guys won't be on the ROH PPV in Las Vegas.ICHIFUJI wrote:Young Bucks vs. MCMG for IWGP Jr tag title

Even if Shibata is perfectly fine, I'd love to see Suzuki come in. I'd even settle for Sakuraba taking on a guy like O'Reilly.monster mafia wrote:if shibata is not able to make roh ..the only replacement for him is minoru suzuki

ANX vs. Guerrillas of Destiny (WHY?!) and Shibata challenging for the TV Title. Does being in New Japan just automatically entitle you to a title shot?

Out of this entire weekend, Lethal vs. Cole is the only match I care about in any way.

New Japan seems willing to let Shibata lose (he lost in RPW) so I figure he's beating Silas at the PPV and losing to Fish the next night, then losing to Kyle at Field of Honor.jordidebaas wrote:So, time limit draw for the TV title match?

Re: Official Death Before Dishonor XIV Weekend Thread
On Friday, Aug. 19th and Saturday, Aug. 20th, the stars of RING of HONOR and NEW JAPAN PRO-WRESTLING converge on Sin City for two nights of electrifying action! One of the premier ROH events of the year, DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR XIV, will emanate from SAM’S TOWN LIVE and be broadcast around the globe on Pay Per View, the FITE TV App, Playstation Network, and ROHWrestling.com! The next night, the stars from each promotion will return to Sam’s Town to do battle in a national television taping with truly global implications!
The partnership between Ring of Honor and New Japan continues to grow stronger each day. Fans of both companies have requested talent and thought of dream matches that they would like to see take place on both sides of the Pacific.
The following match for Death Before Dishonor XIV has just been signed:
HANGMAN ADAM PAGE vs JAY BRISCOE
The war between Hangman Adam Page and Jay Briscoe began more than two months ago when Page betrayed not only Briscoe, but also the entire Ring of Honor locker room.
The night after Bullet Club wreaked havoc at the Global Wars Pay Per View, Page, Jay and Mark Briscoe and The Motor City Machine Guns were set to take on Bullet Club in a 10-man tag match.
Page ended up being replaced in the match by Colt Cabana after purportedly being taken out by a backstage attack. During the match, however, Page came out and turned on the men who were supposed to be his partners, revealing that the “backstage attack” was all a ruse.
Donning Bullet Club’s colors, Page showed his true colors by hitting the Rite of Passage on Jay Briscoe on a table outside the ring.
The feud between Page and Briscoe was reignited recently when Page blindsided the former ROH World Champion during an interview in the locker room.
Briscoe returned the favor by attacking Page during an interview in the arena.
When Page and Briscoe square off at Death Before Dishonor, it’s obvious that they won’t just be trying to win a match; they’ll be looking to destroy one another.

Re: Official Death Before Dishonor XIV Weekend Thread
Great. Another job for Adam Page.
Re: Official Death Before Dishonor XIV Weekend Thread
Would be better if Briscoe hadn't completely squashed him last time.
