2006 Homicide vs. 2016 Kyle O'Reilly

Post by supersonic »

Here's the question:

At any point in O'Reilly's ongoing chase to become ROH Champion, has the live crowd and a number of fans watching on PPV?TV/DVD/VOD get as fucking OUTRAGED on O'Reilly's behalf like Homicide got at Destiny a decade ago, or even Night of the Grudges II the year before? Has O'Reilly, through his own habits and/or ROH's booking, made the type of deep connection that Homicide did en route to becoming ROH Champion?

Homicide was the quintessential anti-hero . He made a connection with the common man. The fans could related to Homicide struggle against an unjust system. Also Homicide was a master of communicating with the fans thur his body language , a lost art.

Kyle is a nice young man from British Columbia is is really good at wrestling.

Homicide tapped into the average ROH fan emotions , while Kyle just generates polite applause . It not the same program . Homicide was on a quest for justice, while Kyle has just had his feeling hurt by Adam Cole.

I can't remember the card or the area but O'Reilly got a draw with Lethal for the TV title and the crowd really wanted the extra five minutes as they felt O'Reilly had been so close. Personally I think O'Reilly can but he needs build not just a random title match out of nowhere.

I think they are rebuilding the O'Reilly vs. Cole feud nicely. Keep O'Reilly in heavy competition build up Bullet Club as an unstoppable force put the World title on Cole let reDRagon hunt down Bullet Club have them take Bobby Fish out causing him to forfeit the TV Title. Kyle overcomes Bullet Club and Cole to win the World Title at Final Battle. Cole & O'Reilly have a few more bouts for the title hopefully ending in some sort of Steel Cage Warfare ROH/NJPW vs. Bullet Club IMO NJPW should get involved and in a perfect world it'd be at War of The Worlds 2k17 Tonga & That other BC Guy, Kenny Omega, YB & Cole vs. Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal, Hiroshi Tanahashi, ROH World Champion Kyle O'Reilly & the returning Bobby Fish. Then kick off Kyle's next storyline with Fish turning on him after the Steel Cage Warfare match.

Kyle isn't ready for the world title right now but he can easily be built up he's a very over babyface. Him beating Lethal and fueding with BC would be awesome too. Jay Lethal is wack.
