Adam Cole has been hospitalized in Philadelphia for pneumonia and will be unable to appear at this weekend’s Road to Best in the World events in Hopkins, Minn., and Milwaukee, ROHWrestling.com has learned.

Cole had been scheduled to face Chris Sabin tonight in Hopkins and Colt Cabana tomorrow night in Milwaukee.

Ring of Honor Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness said that he is working on finding replacements for Cole.

ROH wrestler Adam Cole was hospitalized Friday night in Philadelphia — and the company says his sickness forced the ex-champ to sit out from this weekend’s events.

Sources say Cole was informed he had pneumonia after taking a trip to the hospital last night in PA and we’re told he was still in the hospital today when his flight was scheduled to fly out.

Before the show went on, ROHwrestling.com posted an article about Adam Cole being hospitalized. According to ROH, there are plans being made to replace him as he will not be able to wrestle against Chris Sabin nor Colt Cabana, his scheduled opponents, this weekend.

2016 Tag Team Tournament Finals

The Briscoes defeat reDRagon and Roderick Strong and Jay Lethal after Jay hit the Jay Driller on Roderick Strong.

Ring of Honor was able to score a successful audible tonight in light of Adam Cole’s unexpected illness. There has been no word on when he will be returning and how long recovery will be. At the end of the night, the biggest question will be how Cole’s absence will affect the company’s moving forward.

Whoever sent the results probably didn't know the other two three-way tags were also Tag Wars 2016 matches. So that means the Finals are Silas Young & The Beer City Bruiser vs. The All-Night Express vs. The Briscoes.

I actually really like that card, although the three way tag tourney finals didn't really end up being among the best possibilities on paper. Then again I can't really think of any three-way tag I've ever seen that was particularly great.

I’ll chime in that Night 2 had a card better than one would expect. I know the match wasn’t originally meant to be, but Lethal & Cabana vs. The Young Bucks is far superior the match to Cole vs. Cabana, at least at this point in the story.

Perhaps they could have done a better job in scheduling these events, however. This weekend feels so much colder than their recent three-day weekend.

Reading reports 4 way, MCMG vs Lio/Moose & Bucks vs Cabana/Lethal were all very good/great.

I agree that this weekend shows had less buzz, maybe because of the tournament but I'm glad they gave Silas something even if it's just some TV shot.

Using house shows to set up TV contenders is something they should use more, you are not going to buy into them winning either way but at least this way you have some backstory behind the guy getting the shot, it's feels less random to me.
