Velveteen Dream has been released by WWE, I'm told

I just saw that PWInsider posted this a few minutes ago. Quickly confirmed to me within WWE

Velveteen Dream hadn't been at many NXT tapings of late and hadn't wrestled in 2020. He had been coming to open ring, and there was growing concern in the company he was being set up to help coach classes. He is now released from the company.

Murphy is a fair comparison to PAC in the ring. Maybe doesn't have quite as big of a name; but more of a good wrestler in the ring; than a promo guy. Has a similar ring style to Omega/PAC. Had a good reign as cruiserweight champ... just didn't fit well in WWE entertainment system. Had a solid run as NXT tag team champ as Blake and Murphy, also raw tag champ with Seth Rollins. I;d say at 32; he's in the prime of his career; and a good pickup for any company. He's Australian too; so maybe he goes back there.

Not to take anything away from Black; but i'd say Murphy is the best wrestler of the bunch.

You could start a new promotion with the talent WWE has let go recently, which is good news for ROH. AEW shouldn’t even try to pick up all the available talent. Impact can’t go after everyone as well. However it shakes out, ROH should be able to pick up a couple of solid additions to the roster this year.
