So, anyone interested in a TJ Perkins return?

Post by The Dragon Saga »

Cause it seems he's done with TNA, at least according to his Twitter account as he was moved to TNA's alumni section and says his contract isn't being renewed.

TJP was over during his last run but didn't get a proper chance. He could at the very least be a more than solid opponent for Roddy vs. The World, but other than that, I think he could make a solid addition to the ROH roster.

And hopefully he pops back up, right here on ROHWorld!

I'd welcome it with open arms. He's always been super solid and consistent in the ring, he could really have a good to great match with anyone from Roddy, to Cedric, Cole, O'Reilly, Fish, etc.

Normally I'd say no as Im not that big of a fan of his... but honestly at this moment I think he could fit into that ACH/Alex Shelley/Matt Sydal stable really well.

This is the best post ever by Adamle. I laughed my ass off at this.

Has he started working in a way that draws emotion rather than just displaying crisp but exhibitionary grappling?

I actually really like this idea. Like a group of pure wrestlers who want to get ROH back to what they were known for.

Sure. He was terribly underutilized before.

Perkins has always been a tremendous wrestler, and great to watch. But, they (really anywhere he's worked) have never given him a true character or gimmick to run with. So, if ROH doesn't give him that, I can see them using him every now and then. I'd like for him to answer the Roddy vs. The World challenge.

I would, not as a major guy, but more in the middle of the card. Always enjoyed his matches, but as others say when it comes to displaying emotion... ehhhh.

Absolutely. His release in 2012 was so dumb.

Yes; horribly used during his previous run.

Didn ' t Perkins have issues with Jim Cornette and asked for his release from ROH ? Anyway Perkins is a solid hand and would be a good pickup for ROH . However his skill set really fits Lucha Underground. Maybe Perkins can work under a hood for LU and work for ROH as himself. That would be a win / win for everyone.

I think he'd be a great addition, but I think he'd be better suited under a mask in Lucha Underground or in rebuilding New Japan's junior division.

Yes please! Been rewatching some 2011 stuff and he was always a crisp wrestler, always reliable for a good showing!

I'm sure he did have issues with ROH having him under contract but rarely actually booking him, effectively starving him considering he was only paid per appearance. So he couldn't sign with anybody else, but was left home for months at a time so couldn't make any money with ROH. Same thing Cornette did to the Bucks. He just didn't think it was worth flying them in from the West Coast, unlike Mike Bennett. Because, you know, Bennett was so much more valuable than the Bucks or something.

Not really, his exhibitionary grappling it´s enough for me though. He can a good adiction to the midcard even in a semiregular role.
