Raymond Rowe is a beast. Loved him in his match with Elgin last year (Road to Greatness: Night Two I think?) while Kongo I'm not so over on. He's agile for his size but just doesn't look the part, so for him to go out in the first round is a good sign for my own interests, while Rowe advances which is great. I see him taking the whole tournament.

Elgin's Release Powerbomb on Kongo was scary. As in Elgin's strength scares the poo out of me. Dude is unrivaled for strength, athleticism and size in all of wrestling for me, unless anybody can throw a name at me whose that strong yet technically talented? Its a shame him and Cole rose through the ranks together and are both so good, if Cole wasn't there Elgin would be champion right now.

Steen's line about Hero was funny. "Only thing you'll say after tonight is, "Kevin Steen just kicked my ass... OH-NO!""

I've seen some of Bill Daly's stuff. Dude would be a good signing but I can't see them doing it now if their going to pull him from the tournament. Hope it was some play of sorts. Still random though. Last year all the Top Prospects outside the winner had a match at the 11th Anniversary, hope the same happens here.

Corey Hollis is good. Always liked him. Dude is only 23-years-old too. Mike Posey I'm not so big on and his move-set is irritating. Why do five leg drops? Happy Hollis won, don't know about that spinning back elbow, kind of Hero's thing.

Lethal and Coleman's match was pretty good. I like how their going to do Lethal/Ciampa again because it will be the true test for Ciampa to prove he has "It". Steve Corino being against guest commentators is still funny to me.

And the main event was good but I wish it had been given more time. It wasn't the atypical ROH match, lots of selling and stalling and Steen seemed even more athletic then usual. Him doing the RVD-like jump to the top rope was impressive. I like The Decade so hope they can keep building heat, Steen winning made sense until Cliff Compton attacked him. IDK what they'll do in their feud but if Steen beats Hero and has his eyes set on the World Championship it's not a great time to have Compton pop back up.

And of course, three weeks, AJ Styles returns. Can't wait.

Claudio is leaner, Elgin is a chunkier big guy, it's going to be harder for him to be as athletic. Granted though, Claudio is still a beast.

Rowe vs Kong was a fun brawl, i wasn´t on Kongo bandwagon but i think he can add to the undercard here and there, Rowe looked great here, i hope he gets signed after the tournament. Elgin powerbombing Kongo after the match was fucking insane btw.

Elgin/Hero/Steen was good, Steen was a little bit lost here but the Ohno line was great.

Daly gimmick is like "The Prodigy" i think, let´s see what Team Benchmark can do in the future. Hollis vs Posey was decent but lacked heat, i hope this means that Alabama Attitude is done and we have Country Jacked or just Hollis in singles in the future.

Coleman vs Lethal surprise me a lot, it was a really good match and Coleman was on all the match, they also did a good job showing the end of C&C and hyping Ciampa next week. Great segment as a hole here.

Jay Briscoe promo was just like the promo on youtube before the tapings, just crazy Jay Briscoe doing his thing.

Steen vs Hero was special, seeing Hero back really made this match (Crowd helped a lot too), it was a good TV Maint, i hope we can see a rematch on a live show or major show. Decade attack made sense, Cliff Compton not so much, let´s see what comes out of that.

Crowd was awesome in this episode, made some matches better just being into them, looking foward to next week.

Been a long time. First show I'm watching since the one with Ciampa, Steen and Elgin vs Wolves and Lethal?.. not sure.

Kongo/Rowe was fun while it lasted. Nothing amazing but a nice way to open the tournament. Would love to see Kongo/Ciampa in the future, where Ciampa will absolutely kill Kongo with knees, forearms and everything :P
Gotta be honest, I'm getting sick of Elgin and his endless chase after the title. The Hero/Steen promo was nice.

The whole Posey/Daly/Hollis was terrible.

Coleman/Lethal was fine, Corino was gold.

Wish the show had more segments, considering that it was the fallout show from Final Battle.

Hero/Steen was tons of fun until the interference. I think Hero is kinda losing his momentum after his return, mostly because AJ is getting most of the attention from the fans. Hopefully his booking will be strong for the rest of the year.

Pretty good show, loved the crowd.

Andrew Everett's name changes to Andrew Averett just before the graphic changes. How hard can it be to not screw up a graphic?

I noticed that too, sadly I wasn't surprised.

1/18/14 episode.

Andrew Everett vs Rhett Titus. Solid match. Everett is a good wrestler but looks like shit. Titus was better than I remember him. Veda Scott came out to "expose" him as Titus so maybe hes coming back full-time, as all the ex SCUM guys are doing.

Hanson vs. Cheeseburger. Hanson is a beast. Him and Elgin could put on a good monster match. Cheeseburger can't take bumps and really isn't ready to wreste yet.

Decade vs. Brisoe/Page. It was ok. The crowd seemed barely into it but it was a solid tag match.

Ciampa vs. Young. First off, the match got obviously messed up a few times over the bull strap. Other than that it was awesome.

Really show. Jam packed. The set-up for a future Ciampa/Lethal/Taven triple threat match.

Is ROH's video player been really choppy this week for anyone else? I have been having these problems on two different computers.

Just watched this week show:

-Andrew Everett vs The Romantic Touch was fine, better than expected, Everett has potencial i hope they bring him back soon.

Jay Briscoe/Adam Cole promo was great, i was hoping for them to have a face off like this for some time, they are both great on the mic and make this work.

-Hanson vs Cheeseburger, Hanson is HUGE and he nearly killed Cheeseburger here, he has a good size, if he can go in the ring i am all for him to comeback too.

-The Decade vs Mark Briscoe & Adam Page was another fine match, i am glad to see Jacobs & Withmer tagging again, their finisher is very good. The Decade is going after the young guys and the returning ones it seems.

-Ciampa vs Young was a really good brawl ***1/4-***1/2, i think was on par with their SCOH match but crowd was a little quiet here, Silas caracter is awesome it makes him not look bad even in defeat. Matt Taven stuff was good too, now he can have a match with Silas after the 3 way and stablish himself as a face.

Nice opening video package. ROH have really got good at these over the last few years.

Raymond Rowe vs. Kongo **1/2
For the time it got, this was very good. Kongo is very mobile for a man his size, and Rowe is a very good big guy badass hard hitter. The finish was sick.

Elgin's powerbomb on Kongo was cool to see. He's a freak.

For somebody who isn't too great on the mic, Elgin's promo was solid. Nothing special, but nothing offensive either. Hero got a very nice pop, which was nice to see. Hero and Steen's interaction was decent too, but for Steen's standards it was very ordinary.

Love the way they're building up Styles. They're treating him as a huge deal, which of course he is.

The first round shuffling felt awkward and I've never been a fan of Posey.

Corey Hollis vs. Mike Posey **
Nana is horrible on commentary. This match was pretty good for what it was. Posey looked better than usual, but Hollis was definitely the star here. He's really crisp in the ring, not sure how else to describe it.

Caprice Coleman vs. Jay Lethal **1/2
These two had some really good chemistry. I'm not usually a fan of Coleman, but he looked good here.

Jay Briscoe's promos are always good, and this was no different.

Chris Hero vs. Kevin Steen **3/4
I'm a big fan of both these guys, and I really wish this match got more time. Hopefully we'll see a lengthier match between the two in the future. The finish felt a little awkward. I'm fine with seeing non-finishers win matches, in fact I like it (I think it builds up the excitement for near falls), but the amount of time it took for him to follow up with the pin made it feel awkward.

Cliff Compton's attack was interesting. I'm fine with giving him another chance, but he'll really need to step his ring level up from his SCUM run.

Andrew Everett vs. Romantic Touch **
Everett looked great here, and Scott coming out and basically trolling the angle was hilarious. It was a nice breath of fresh air after all the "mystery" masked men we've had over the years. RT actually looked a little better than his SCUM run, but then again that wouldn't be too hard.

Decade video package was great. I keep saying it, but they've really got good at these recently.

Briscoe and Cole interaction was good. I'm really hoping that they get this match out the way soon though, because one it's going to soon lose its heat and two, going by Briscoe's current run, it may not be too fantastic a match, so it's best to get it out the way so Cole can move onto other guys who he will have stellar matches with.

Cheeseburger vs. Hanson 1/4*
Hanson has a great look. He basically just destroyed Cheeseburger, as he should have. He looked pretty good doing so too.

Adam Page vs. Mark Briscoe N/A
Decent segment to build up the Decade, although I'm not sure goofy Mark Briscoe is the guy to build them up.

Veda's promo was very good. She's really good as the heel lawyer.

The Decade vs. Page & Briscoe **3/4
Decade looked good, but Mark just annoys me in the ring these days. Liked their finisher.

A good fired up Steen promo is followed by yet another good video package on Ciampa and his TV title win.

Taven's promo was decent, and I'm behind his face turn. He's a really good wrestler, and I think his high flying style will suit the good guy side of the coin.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Silas Young ***
A good match, but again, could have done with another five minutes, and without all the focus on the strap. Still, good match.

Post match was a nice build to Wrestling's Finest triple threat.

Overall these were two decent shows, but both could have done with less match on them, giving the main events the extra time. I'd have cut the Lethal-Coleman match, and just had a beatdown by the Decade rather than a match.

Just watched the Corey Hollis vs Ray Rowe match. Did it seem like they edited out a whole middle part of the match? I remember live reports saying that it was pretty good but it came off on TV like a squash. Corey Hollis only got like 3 moves in the entire match and didn't even get a comeback. It cut to the crowd at one point and back to the ring and they were already in the middle of a spot.

Kevin Kelly: "Steve Corino will join us later in the hour!"
You can see Corino with Kelly and Nana at the commentary booth. WTF?

Rown/Hollis was fun while it lasted, but why the match was so short? I mean it's the semi-finals. Hopefully Everett/Hanson next week will be booked better. I love the KO Knee, btw.

Loved how atm Veda mentioned Elgin's name his music was played. I still think Elgin is stale and his ship has sailed for now, but I love what they're doing with him right now. Hopefully he won't be anywhere near the world title till the Summer. The match with RD was tons of fun. RD's selling was awesome.
Corino: "He threw Jay Lethal down!" I was laughing so hard

Fish/Briscoe was great and probably Fish's best match. I want Jay to win the world title so bad. That Briscoe/Cole feud is really, really great.

I love the set of tapings from TN. The crowd is awesome. Next weel should be special.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that really likes the current main event feud.

I think it's awesome. I honestly don't know how it's going to end.

am enjoying this last set of tapings from Nashville.

Thoughts:

- In addition to porn site ads, ROH is now also sporting a giant banner for a bail bonds office over the ring. Grumpy's Bail Bonds: You Ring, We Spring. Class all the way.

- The Top Prospect Tournament is always enjoyable. I think the best of this bunch is Raymond Rowe, although Hanson obviously has a great look.

- I hope that's the last we see of Cheeseburger

- RD Evans just isn't doing it for me in ROH. Kind of a waste of time.

- Chris Hero vs Kevin Steen was a main event featuring two of the least athletic looking guys I can remember seeing in a TV wrestling match since I don't know when. I'm not saying you have to have the crazy WWE body, but this was pretty embarrassing. Hero is not even close to the shape that, say, Mr. Anderson is in.

- The Decade makes no sense. None. Also, Strong, Jacobs, and Whitmer have zero chemistry. It's especially hard to believe that Strong would hang out with Jacobs, or that Whitmer is a heel.

- Having said that, Whitmer is AWESOME in the ring.

- Adam Cole and Jay Briscoe are perfect in their roles. You look at Adam Cole as heel champ and you realize how bad Roderick Strong was as heel champ.

- Rhett Titus is MUCH more tolerable as Romantic Touch where he doesn't talk and you don't have to see his stupid face.

Did you really just say Jacobs and Whitmer don't have chemistry?

I mainly meant the group as a whole - I could buy Whitmer and Jacobs as a babyface tag team, but the three of them together seem totally arbitrary, though obviously Strong and Jacobs is the biggest incongruity. It's like that stable in WWECW that had Matt Striker and Kevin Thorne in it, and all I could think about was how in real life a vampire would never hang out with a teacher.
