WGTT vs. The Briscoes - Final Battle 2011

Universally shat on, but I was engaged throughout this double-turn and had no idea what to expect. I found it dramatic, most people found it confusing for some reason.

Silas Young vs. ACH - Raising the Bar

One of the best matches of last year, hardly ever gets mentioned.

Not saying I disagree with you regarding the rest, but I feel pretty strongly about these two. All three were just so excellent during this time. If the landscape then were similar to now all three would be prospering in NXT.

Classic ROH has such a wealth of matches that, in the hands of educated men, this thread could reach as long as The Big List pinned to the front page.

Upon first instinct:

KENTA vs. Rocky Romero - United We Stand: This was lauded back in its day, but it is not brought up that often any more. I think this is one of KENTA's top five matches in ROH and the best Rocky singles match I have seen. They work so elegantly together.

Christopher Daniels vs. Eddie Edwards - Honor Takes Center Stage Chapter 1: One of ROH's best first defense title bouts. Christopher Daniels looked motivated and Eddie had a chip on his shoulder to prove to be of the same cloth as other champions. Again, the two compliment each other really gracefully.

Jerry Lynn vs Roderick Strong - A Cut Above: Crimony, if booking didn't foist him so heavily, Jerry Lynn's time in ROH would be as fondly remembered as Gibson's return to form. Jerry is not in the same shape as Roderick, but he would be damned if he didn't go out there and wrestle like he was ten years younger. A really gritty performance by both men that night.

Richards vs Strong- Final Battle 2010 This is really one of my favorite ROH matches, but I don't see it mentioned that often. Probably overshadowed by Steen vs Generico. Richards/Strong was equally as good in my opinion, but on the opposite side of the spectrum in terms of style.

Absolutely agree, one of the best ROH Championship matches of all time.

Just because it's fresh in my mind, I'm surprised Page-Strong from Final Battle doesn't get more love. Those guys were working their asses off, and it was my favourite match on the card.

CM Punk vs. Homicide - Round Robin Challenge. Homicide and Punk just flat out wrestle their asses off with no gimmicks.

Samoa Joe vs. Bryan Danielson- Midnight Express Reunion. I feel this match never gets enough love, due to the high love for each guys more famous foes during their title reign. This match is a 40 minute gem and is my personal favorite of any of their matches against the other. Supersonic does great job recapping this match.

Kobashi/Homicide vs. Joe/Low Ki from Unforgettable 2005.

Joe-Kobashi from the night before grabs all the headlines, but they had two MOTYC's that weekend.

Samoa Joe & Bryan Danielson vs. KENTA & Marufuji BITW 06. It's respected, but at the same time often forgotten.

Jay Lethal vs. RD Evans - Glory by Honor XIII
Probably the best match of Lethal's current TV title reign

Yeah, sure, awesome match. But I think his last defense against Ciampa was better.

Very random match, but Gresham/Hollis vs. Page/Whitmer I thought was a really solid match. All four guys busted their asses and put on an awesome match. Gresham and Hollis should be semi regulars, if not regulars.

Another random one is reDRagon vs. Monster Mafia at A New Dawn. Such a good match. Great way to introduce MM, but too bad it all went to nothing. Still a really good match.

I was going to mention RD vs. MM.
Necro Butcher vs. Jay Briscoe. Believe it was included as an extra on a DVD at some point. Never enjoyed a second of Necro's career (that I've seen) otherwise, but thought this was a great match.
