It is generally believed that Jonathan Gresham is either signed or to be signed by AEW.

Sean Ross Sapp is reporting that a majority of ROH moving forward will be AEW talent. Most previous ROH talent won’t be signed.

Not that shocking, but hope that some make their way their in time.

Since ROH is now dead I might as well drop 1 more tidbit of news. I posted in late Feb/early March about “next match announced showing the new direction of ROH”. It was about Killer Kross but was changed as a surprise to end the show but the sale killed it. Last week I said none of ROH guys would be signed and I was correct. Now for this week my last trick…Honor Club will be gone before Memorial Day. Most likely folded by May 1 if everything goes right. Less than 3k subs to it.

One is in commentary I understand and one isn’t? That’s probably why AXS had JR and Josh Barnett do English commentary on NJPW episodes. The audience is minimal for those wanting to watch Japanese stuff, especially when they don’t speak Japanese.

Ok, we’ll someone watching the Japanese stuff wouldn’t get all the interviews and other non wrestling stuff. If you’re only putting on a show with only matches, then that would be fine.

Personally I would have no issue with watching AEW episodes with Japanese commentary as I know the wrestlers and angles happening.
This is why I can watch an NJPW show in either now because I know the wrestlers and story arcs there now. A lot of which was assisted by their introduction of English commentary.
Commentary can make a difference but for me that difference is made when I'm still in the stages of my fandom for a promotion developing. Like now with NOAH when they have the English commentary for their shows on Wrestle Universe it brings my understanding of their product along better thus making my overall experience in the end more enriching as a wrestling fan.

Watching televised wrestling without commentary or with commentary in another language is much less enjoyable. I get that everyone has different options on things like that, for me the lack of crowds wasn't that big of a deal most of the time for a TV show, but it definitely takes away from the big match PPV feel. I don't get TBS/TNT, but I wouldn't watch on NJPW with Japanese commentary.
