The Worst ROH Match of the Year - NOMINATIONS

Assuming nothing so God-awful is going to be shown on the last couple taped episodes, I think we should put the kettle on and talk about shite. Call me Mr. Negative, but I think it's fun to talk about the things that went wrong, or the things that went right but we hated them anyway.

You've all got a maximum of 10 nominations each and I'll close the nominations when they start drying up.


Things to consider:

- SQUASHES. Harmless? Not always. I always judge a match by how much I enjoy it and some squashes can be so much fun to watch again and again if they're short, have a crowd that's totally into the squash-er and feature quality ass-kicking. So if a squash has nothing to make it memorable or accomplish anything or simply bores me, I'm considering it a bad match.

- COMEDY MATCHES. I like comedy matches when they're done right. By right, I mean they have to actually feature comedy. Brutal Burgers or RD/Moose tags shouldn't be given a pass for featuring comedy workers being serious if you found no entertainment in them.

- NON-MATCHES. RD vs. Bobby Cruise? Loved it. I thought it was a hilarious segment. There's a large number of "real" matches where I'd rather rewatch this than them. Lethal/Seleziya? Harmless. But still, the bell rang so I'm counting it (and the segment bookmarking it) as a match. Caprice/Elgin...yeah...

• Brutal Burgers vs. RD Evans & Moose - Field Of Honor
Dull, dull, dull. No crowd, no good action or comedy, no nothing. The only decent spot was RD doing a home run and even then that spot was already done by Martini earlier in the show.

• Caprice Coleman vs. Michael Elgin - ROH on SBG 22/11/14
An awkward as Hell worked shoot that nobody was ever going to buy into the shoot aspect of. Maybe they should revisit the Charlie Haas/Grizzly Redwood incident for an example of entertaining self-destructive behaviour.

• The Romantic Touch vs. Caprice Coleman - State of the Art
I can't even really remember anything about this. Apparently I hated it or fell asleep during it though.

• Corey Hollis vs. Mike Posey - Top Prospect Tournament (Round 1)
Hollis qualified for the TPT and, for reasons too boring to remember, this pissed Posey off. Commence the most awkward and dull breakup of a team no one truly gave a damn about. Also, Posey specialises in weak-looking legdrops.

• Alex Reigns vs. Weezy Woo - State of the Art
Good God, why did these two get so much time? Two local (and green) jobbers were given 10 minutes to stink the place out until RD Evans' arrival. There was absolutely nothing good about this. Just plain bad and an absolute pissbreak.

Romantic Touch vs. Jay Lethal in Cincinnati. Nothing else should even be considered close to as bad as that was, I was there live and the crowd went from merely apathetic to down right angry with what it was being subjected to having to watch.

Rhett wasn't bad, but Lethal was horrendous. Its the worst single's match of Lethal's ROH career.

Bill Daly had to pull out of the TPT with an injury, so the story was Hollis would've had a bye but Posey suggested he earned the right to qualify for the semis "the right way" - even though the crowd knew he'd be obliterated by Ray Rowe when he got there, so nobody cared about the match (which could explain why Posey didn't get jeered after the sequence of hitting multiple running legdrops)

On the subject of TPT, Rowe/Kongo from the first round was pretty damn bad.

What was bad about that match? I remember liking it a lot, moreso than the other first round matches. It was two monster beating the hell out of each others.

The Elgin/Alexander world title match that aired on TV was very bad, but personally I wouldn't rank it down there with the level of shittiness of these other matches we're listing.

That was light years better than the TD vs. Touch match from SotF Night 2, which was far, far, far worse. Someone next to me shouted 'You ruined my intermission for this?", and everyone around him, including myself agreed. I've never had a match stop me dead in my tracks like that, but this one did.

I nominate it due to no selling, from a certain team, who I am not allowed to talk about except in one thread, so I will call them Nameless team.

I also nominate it due to a positional botch near end from Kazarian

Nameless team wrestled the match too fast and it told no story, and too me was garbage trash.

RD Evans v Moose was second worst for me. I look at it tho in terms of what I would have expected from such great performers like Daniels and Kaz, ACH I would thought it would been way better.

I thought it was god awful, from start to finish, a trainwreck, a nightmare too watch, boring.
