Just to give everyone a quick idea of how this place looks. Seating capacity is 9,500.

Note it's another Sunday evening (EST) date, indicating it will likely be the 3rd broadcast PPV.

They're really going to have to load up this card to even quarter fill this one.
Re: ROH to Celebrate 13th Anniversary in LAS VEGAS!
I feel like it might do better than we think. There's more people excited about this on Facebook than usual. Plus it's well off in advance enough that people from all over could make plans, like Joeism and Mr. Orange are doing. Hell, I may even do it.Robareid wrote:They're really going to have to load up this card to even quarter fill this one.

Is it just me (and Joe Lanza) who would never buy tickets for an event without at least a talent list announced, if for nothing else that it hurts the talent as it de-leverages them.
Re: ROH to Celebrate 13th Anniversary in LAS VEGAS!
But isn't ROH the whole experience/package of an event that they provide regardless of what interchangeable guys are there. I mean interchangeable in the least offensive way in that ROH present themselves as this brand in pro wrestling and it can have Wrestler A against Wrestler B or its can be A&B against Y&Z and it'll still be a good show. Not always the case as some shows are better than others but they certainly have marketed that angle from the very get go.
Plus its being an anniversary and in a party/resort town like Las Vegas makes it an event in itself.

This is actually very smart to re-introduce the ROH brand in the Southwest just four weeks before the company returns to the West Coast. Could convince some folks to take the road trip to the Bay Area.
Re: ROH to Celebrate 13th Anniversary in LAS VEGAS!
Sounds really interesting and it can be a really great show - I think many people think like that, which can help with filling the place.
Re: ROH to Celebrate 13th Anniversary in LAS VEGAS!
Also if they promote this well using local radio,TV show and local adverts then it could draw in a good mix. A venue that large might need some sectioning off. Would ROH ever paper an event?
Would that just damage the image they are trying to build? As one point it would give you a bigger audience and that looks like a more big time deal to those watching or potential advertisers/investors on the SBG end.
Or would it just drum up the argument of being bush league and hark to the practices of TNA which then people love to shit all over and is that a product you would want to associated with.

Re: ROH to Celebrate 13th Anniversary in LAS VEGAS!
It depends on how they set up the arena, i don´t think they are going to use the full size.
Re: ROH to Celebrate 13th Anniversary in LAS VEGAS!
Never thought ROH would come here again, honestly. Last time it was 21 and older, which just seems weird for a wrestling show. Tempted to go depending on ticket prices and if I can get that night off. I do think they're jumping the gun a bit with the size though.
One thing I do want to point out is that the Orleans is one of the older hotels here that's a bit away from the strip. It shows its age, I guess is a good way of putting it. It's a very odd place to run a wrestling show, considering the marquee outside usually boasts about it's $2.99 Steak and Eggs Midnight Special and that just won't leave my mind at the moment.

4750 people would be pretty great for ROH, they can still set up the venue in order to not visually disclose it's half-empty.supersonic wrote:That would mean it's half empty though.JigsawVs.Jason wrote:wow that venue looks absolutely great, hopefully they manage to get it half full.

Is that the only venue at this particular casino? I know ROH has run shows in buildings that have several different sized rooms. Just curious if this particular casino does or not...Ladrao12 wrote:

Regardless, really cool news!! Like (I believe) supersonic mentioned, if they're indeed planning to run in the Bay Area during 'Mania Weekend, it's a pretty smart decision to run somewhere else on the West Coast beforehand. The fact that it's on a Sunday might mean that it could on PPV (or at least iPPV). Hopefully ROH goes all out for this show!!
Re: ROH to Celebrate 13th Anniversary in LAS VEGAS!
They don't specify the Orleans Arena, but just say the Orleans Hotel & Casino. The property has 2 other potential spaces. They have a showroom, which is unlikely since it's a fixed-seat theater & stage setup that would require the ring to be on the stage. I've seen wrestling shows setup like that and I doubt they'd do it. There's also the Mardi Gras Ballroom which is a standard Vegas hotel type ballroom listing a capacity of 2,000 (for a "reception" setup). That is a possibility, and would likely look like the AWA tapings for ESPN or a lot of cable boxing shows that use similar spaces.
Announcing it this early tells me they probably will do the Arena (they don't mind pipe & drape), but it's hard to say. It'd be awesome if they could pull an arena size crowd. Vegas has been a good TV market and people have been asking for a show for a long time, so it's cool they're trying this.
