Proving Grounds match for ROH TV Title: Romantic Touch def Jay Lethal
- Touch was unmasked as Matt Taven

Michael Elgin vs. Michael Bennett no-contest; Adam Cole interfered, they cut Elgin’s hair and Cole put MsChif in the figure-four.
So Elgin is now mullet-less?

Elgin's Mullet is no more?!?!?! *GASP*

Although the Matt Taven thing sounds cool, why would he want to win a Proving Ground Match? He already has a title shot.

Add all this to the fact that Caprice Coleman beat BJ Whitmer, and that has thrown a big wrench into everyone's Pick 'Ems.

It seems like Coleman beat Whitmer with Cedric´s help.

That makes sense though I haven't read that anywhere. Shoot me a link to who said that.

Wow, the new development in the Cole/Elgin rivalry is the best! Such a no good, dirty, rotten, old-school feel to that. This makes me way more interested in their match at BITW. Now it's not just Elgin doing the same thing he always does. Now it's personal!

The Taven/RT thing is entertaining. I guess you can chalk it up as mind games to get in Lethal's head.

I agree. What happened definitely adds to the rivalry heading into Best In The World.

The first step in his road to New Japan. He can't get away with wacky hair, he's no Nakamura or Tanahashi.

Well, that makes me feel like it's more likely they're putting the title on him, if ROH is serious about trying to expand the company they don't want their champ rocking a mullet.

Based on the results it looks the World Tag Team Title Match went on last.

Any word on the attendance?

pwponderings said around 500. Sounds like this card all around was better than the night before. And the surprises mean they will be some distancing to some degree on the pick ems as well.

And Taven winning the Proving Ground match shows to Lethal Taven is capable of beating him. Not that I think it will, but it adds a lot more than Titus in a forgettable match with Lethal would have.

Cole cutting off Elgin's mullet is so fucking awesome. Just depresses me because now it's 100% confirmed that Elgin is winning the belt. Cole I guess reached his peak with heat tonight though you'd assume. Can't make people hate you more than figure fouring a mans wife lmfao. So fucking perfect.

Show itself sounds ok. Looks like they went storyline progression style show, which is fine.

Caprice won by himself. Cedric only ran down to save him from a post-match beating.

Any word on how good the Title matches were? Either of those could have headlined by itself, so if they delivered this will be a good show to get. I'll be surprised if Young vs ACH isn't worth seeing as well.

I liked Ciampa/Cole a lot. Even knowing full well that Cole had to win, they still got me to buy into a couple of the near-falls towards the end.

The tag title match was good as well, but probably my third favorite of the night behind the world title match and ACH vs. Silas.

Just got back to the hotel from the show. Very fun show.
Middoux vs #allego **1/2
Thomas vs alexander ***
Whitmer vs coleman **1/2
Lethal vs touch **
Elgin vs bennet ***
Ach vs young ****
Cole vs ciampa ****1/4
Briscoes vs redragon ****
First half was fun story progression, second half was straight up good wrestling. Id put cole ciampa on par with their last match.

Instead of showing these as regular "Road Rage" type episodes the next two weeks, I wouldn't mind them changing the format of the TV show to special "Road to..." editions. By that I mean they could have Kevin Kelly do a short Inside ROH introduction and promo video or interview for each story line, and then follow it by showing the corresponding match or highlight from this weekend. Pretty much, kind of what the format was for Hardcore TV.

Going forward, they could keep the TV tapings the same as they are now, and then in the downtime do this format show for "Summer Heat Tour" and the "Road to Final Battle" type shows. I think this would really help build to their big ippv/PPV shows more. That's something that Inside ROH always did well.

Probably because this Proving Ground match explain the title shot at BITW.
With the stipulation, the TV title match already announced and the wrestler who was supposed to face Lethal, i think everyone thought that Touch would lose.

With MsChif involved in the feud, we could have two groups : Cole/Bennett/Hardy/Maria & Elgin/Hanson/Rowe/MsChif. A good way to stop the interferences.

Very interested in seeing both these shows. Can't wait 'til they're available!
