The Early Years Of Ring Of Honor

Post by Indynut »

I don't know about everyone else, but I miss the days of Low-Ki, Doug Williams, Spanky, etc. So much went on from 2002 -2004.

Special K
Carnage Crew
Pure Title(I know it came back)
Prophecy
Second City Saints
Abdullah
Muta
The riot at the 1 year anniversary show
Samoa Joe's dominant reign
#1 Contender's Trophy

I am probably forgetting a lot more.

I pulled out the Best of AJ Styles the other day and watched AJ/London, AJ/Joe, and AJ/Danielson - really enjoyed them all.

Man, I was a watch every show fan back in the day, but I think some of that is looking through rose colored glasses. The contenders trophy was a fail, I enjoyed the Carange Crew but have no interest in going out of the way to remember or rewatch them, Abdullah brought nothing to the table unless you were a fan already and it was cool to see him, and the only thing I remember about the riot was thinking it wasn’t as bad as everyone else made it out to seem.

Now the ROH that scouted our the best up and coming talent and let them perform at their peak, Joe, Punk, Daniels, Low-Ki , etc... sure

That's what DVDs are for. I just get a special happy feeling pulling out a good show from the pre-Sinclair TV era. The shows just feel so fun, while also having some real emotion to them.

Carnage Crew were rough around the edges, but they mesh with ROH at the time. They would never have worked in late 2005/2006 though as a serious top team.
I've got over 400 ROH DVDs for sale from 2002 to 2018! Let me know if you are looking for any! Can ship anywhere in the world.
