One of the Most Overlooked <10min Matches in ROH

Post by Marketh. »

I remember when this show came out, this match was either you didn't talk about it, or you gave it a bad review. I've no idea why anyone would do either. It's such a great match and is the reason why ROH should've jumped on board with Callihan. Skullkrusher only had two above average matches during his run, and this is the better one.

Roderick Strong vs. Go Shiozaki vs. Erick Stevens is the 2nd best under 10 minute match of my lifetime. Only second to Raven vs. Chris Jericho from Halloween Havoc 1998 obviously.

Pretty decent match. When was this? Can't place it at all.

Ah! Got you now. Couldn't think what the Chicago street fight was they were talking about but remember now. Thanks.

Speaking of <10 min matches, Roderick Strong vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima brings the brutality for 9 minutes and change, but ultimately gets overshadowed on Supercard of Honor IV by Davey vs. KENTA and Nigel vs. Lynn.

How Pearce could have watched that match and decided that Skullcrusher was the one to push is beyond me.

I remember watching one of the first episodes of HDNet when Kenny King wrestled Sami Callihan and I really liked Callihan then. I was surprised they didn't eventually sign him.

I also really liked Brown, too.

Skullkrusher was an insanely fun squash guy. His squashes were a highlight of HDNet.

I think they tried to replace him with Samson, only he wasn't even as good and his matches were so competitive he just got exposed.

And considering he beat Mondo and was competitive with Elgin, it was clear they had him in mind to be a regular.

Eh I doubt it. If that was the case he would've at least been used on TV in some squashes.

They were incredibly entertaining. I was so disappointed about the fiasco surrounding his release.

Since we're (kind of) on the topic of wrestlers from that time period who we miss, I wish they never let the Dark City Fight Club go. They're an awesome power team.

Erick Stevens vs. Ruckus vs. Delirious vs. Shane Hagadorn from New Horizons is one of my all time favorite ROH matches, and it's under five minutes.
