Final Battle 2011

Post by ROHWorld_Steven »

So, what do we all think of the card so far (non-spoilers, please!)?

What matches are we hoping to be announced?

Check out http://www.ROHWorld.com/finalbattle for our exclusive microsite that will be updated when new matches are announced.

Hmm, maybe. I've not seen any of his Japanese stuff but heard it's much better than what he was doing in WWE. Could potentially answer the Roderick Strong challenge.

I would be a coup for ROH to get him. I think NJPW and ROH have a friendly relationship, Davey Richards was billed as representing Ring of Honor in this year's Best of the Super Juniors.

I'm pretty excited for it. Edwards/Richards has yet to disappoint.

Yeah, NJPW and ROH definitely seem to have some kind of good relationship. I wouldn't be against some kind of talent swapping in the future. If I was going to pick a guy from NJPW though, I think I'd have to go for Prince Devitt.

True. The only question is: How do they top 'Best In The World'?

Or how do they top Best in the World without injuring each other permanently!

The card I'm currently predicting:

ROH World Championship
Davey Richards defends vs. Eddie Edwards

ROH World Tag Team Championship
Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team defend vs. The Briscoes

Kevin Steen vs. Steve Corino

Invitational Match
Roderick Strong vs. KENTA (I'd keep this as a surprise)

ROH World TV Championship
Jay Lethal defends vs. El Generico vs. Mike Bennett

TJ Perkins vs. Michael Elgin

Delirious vs. Tommaso Ciampa

Four Way Scramble
The All Night Express vs. The Young Bucks vs. The Bravado Brothers vs. Future Shock
Last Real Man Hype

It would be great to see KENTA back. His matches always felt a bit special. He felt dangerous and a win over him would feel like a big deal.

i wouldnt mind seeing Perkins vs. Generico.

as much as i love WGTT,the Brisoces,Richards and Eddie i wish the title matches were different. The Briscoes have been champs six times so i wish they werent still always in the title hunt.

predictions on how the Steen thing plays out? itd be too obvious to have Jacobs as ref turn on Corino. maybe Jacobs gets knocked out and another ref comes down to count the pin.

That would be fantastic. I also won't mind a rematch with Kotaro Suzuki from NOAH. Strong lost a title match to him in his highly successful summer Noah Tour, despite dominating the match.

I remember talking to Chris Jericho on his book tour, and he stated he liked Strong's work. Would it be possible he faces Chris Jericho?

Davey vs. Eddie is worth what GoFight charges for an iPPV by itself. Anything good to great on top of that is icing to me.

The top two matches do nothing for me. Edwards/Richards will be great, but I've seen that match in what feels like every main event ROH has done this year. I'd love to see them go out there and work a shorter 15-20 min. match.

As long as WGTT drop the belts, I'm happy.

I don't mind WGTT with the belts, honestly. But I do want to see them drop them, because when ANX finally wins them like they deserve to, it'll be better if they win them from the Briscoes.

im not against the Briscoes getting the belts back but id like them to have a long reign if they do. i think ANX should get them as well.

I'm pumped for Eddie/Davey III and Steen/Corino. I'm not looking forward to WGTT/Briscoes too much, I'd much rather see WGTT/ANX and have ANX pick up the win, imo. I also want to see Elgin/TJP.

Yeah, worth the 15 bucks for Richards/Edwards III all by itself. Really looking forward to everything announced so far, and I hope the Briscoes take the straps.

Looks like a awesome show. Dem Boys better win the titles cause I'm getting real tired of WGTT's Reign.
