Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
The amount of times he says "Wins and losses matter" so far on Road to Greatness: Night 1? 4. I'm only on the 2nd match.

Steen: "But trying to end young Cheeseburger's career before it even begins? Nope, I don't actually have a problem with that either."
KK: "There's only one Kevin Steen!"
Threatening to destroy Ring of Honor makes you the worst person in the world, but killing Cheeseburger is all in good fun.

(Jimmy Jacobs VS Silas Young)
"Jimmy Jacobs has done about everything in ROH...."
.... Except win the ROH title, win SOTF, or headline a Final Battle.
(Ricky Marvin VS Davey Richards)
"Marvin has been wrestling since he was in diapers!"
Marvin made his debut in 1995 at 15, long after wearing diapers had ceased.

Nah, Marvin just has a real personal problem that he confided in Kevin about, who then went on to embarass him on TV by revealing it.Jeremy wrote:(Ricky Marvin VS Davey Richards)

Your fantasy booking would turn them around in a hurry.
Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
"Oh come on, Scarlett! Cover yourself up, it looks like her lower half is...erm..."
Meanwhile, I don't recall Kevin ever complaining about Truth's tuxedo ballhuggers.
"When I first met Taven years ago, he was doing volunteer work with the Boys and Girls Club and doing everything right in his career, but now he's fallen under the spell of Truth Martini, he's forgotten about the kids, he forgotten about where he's come from..."

Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
Isn't all KK commentary bizarre..? He couldn't be less riveting during big moments. If he yells "oh!!" after a big move, instead of calling it...one more time. Just thank goodness for Nigel and Steen commentary

Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
Kelly: Lethal...suicide dive.
Corino: Say it! Say it!
Kelly: I only say it for Eddie.
(another dive from Lethal)
Corino: Come on, say it Kevin!
(now a suicide dive from Eddie, in which everyone waits for Kelly to say it, but no call)
(now another dive from Eddie)
Kelly: Sssssssoaring and scoring! (incredibly badly timed, as he started while Eddie was maybe not even halfway across the ring)
So basically Corino calls out Kelly's predictable and uninteresting commentary, which in turn makes Kelly's commentary even more terribly awkward.

Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
I know the majority of this thread is about stupid Kevin Kelly commentary, but he deserves props for one line from this weeks episode.
Steve Corino: "There's not another one legged wrestler I can make fun of Kevin."
Kevin Kelly: "That's not true, just ask Johnny Ace."

Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
My favorite Kelly quote was after one of Kevin Steen's run-ins when he was still hadn't returned to the company,
"The looming specter that was looming loomed again."
"The looming specter that was looming loomed again."
Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
I had to look up that story to get it, because I wanted to know why I could see Kevin on camera desperately trying not to crack up at his own joke. The Dragon Saga wrote:I know the majority of this thread is about stupid Kevin Kelly commentary, but he deserves props for one line from this weeks episode.

Please tell me you didn't just make that up. That's gotta be up there with the best Kevin Kellyisms.WhigParty wrote:"The looming specter that was looming loomed again."

That is right up there with Dan Dierdorf from the Jets/Pats game a couple weeks ago. "The Patriots team is teeming with team players!"WhigParty wrote:My favorite Kelly quote was after one of Kevin Steen's run-ins when he was still hadn't returned to the company,

Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
I'm definitely not making it up. I believe it was Death Before Dishonor IX after checking out a timeline. I think that was when Steen tried to piledrive Cary Silkin because it'd have to be between him being brought back by Corino and facing Corino at FInal Battle.

Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
Kevin Kelly is a big part of why I'm having trouble watching ROH right now. He and Nigel suck together. Their strict views on everything make it hard as a fan to watch everything. Nigel always whining about a ref in tag matches and Kevin backing him up, it's annoying. Let them do their job, you do your job and try to help the match flow better, not make me want to turn it off.

Re: Bizarre Kevin Kelly Commentary
This was great. The following, from the same match, was not: "I've personally overseen him come" ... was going for "I have personally seen him overcome..." but it didn't quite come out that way,..The Dragon Saga wrote:I know the majority of this thread is about stupid Kevin Kelly commentary, but he deserves props for one line from this weeks episode.

Awesome Kevin Kelly Commentary:
*During Twinkies chants*
Corino: "Sometimes the New York crowd don't realise just how stupid they are."
KK: "Yep, you actually have a point there."
