The more Kevin Kelly does commentary by himself or without Nigel, the more I'm starting to pick up on just some weird things he tends to say. It's always either strange expressions he's made up or just not being able to string a sentence together. These are a few I've picked up on from watching Killer Instinct so far, but I encourage you all to post your own as you hear them.


"Harlem Bravado continues to hear the 'Justin Bieber' chants from the crowd, despite the fact that Bieber is slipping further and further down in relevancy."

"The pin cover is a lost art."

Wins and losses don't matter in CHIKARA?
"They've battled before in CHIKARA, so they are not strangers to one another, but this is in Ring of Honor, this is about wins and losses."

This one's bizarre for coming before the Steen/Lethal incident, so why it matters is unclear:
"Now's...Jay Lethal's parents are at ringside, fans, and Corino is, uh, Steve Corino...for a long time has had...a, uh...less than positive, shall we say, relationship...with the Lethal family."

Some of the things he says are forced, of seem fake. I am just hoping the get someone in soon to balance him. I could vote for Prince Nana to do color.

If you let anyone talk long enough, especially when they have to talk, they'll eventually say stupid things. No one is immune to this. Listen to any sports commentary during a game and you'll hear enough moronic sayings you'd give them a pimp slap until your hand went numb. That's why two people on commentary is standard in most things.

This is not unique to Kelly (seems like a common issue with wrestling announcers - Tenay does it too) but Kelly does it even more than most:

Clubbing forearm right to the jaw of Roderick Strong!

Kick to the leg of Eddie Edwards!

Davey working over the arm of Rhino!

What human being speaks like that? Why is he structuring his sentences that way? When I see somebody wearing a funny hat, I don't say, "Look at the hat on the head of Bill!" When it's cold out, I don't say, "I'm going to put some gloves on the hands of me!"

Kelly does that all that time. Tenay used to do it even more comically because in addition to this bizarre Yoda syntax, he would pathetically try to sprinkle in hip urban lingo like the kids use:

"Spin kick, right to the grill of Max Buck!"

He's approaching Cole level bad.

I didn't mind his commentary a few months ago, when he would say weird stuff, but now he's saying weird stuff and is apparently unable to string a sentence together most of the time.
