I just heard Athena announced on her Twitter that she'll be in Baltimor for the next set of tapings. Thats answers the MsChif question.

At the start of 2011, as part of the final HDNet TV Tapings, ROH officials set up the first Top Prospect Tournament as a way to give some of the young, up and coming talent a chance to shine and ultimately earn a future shot at the World TV Title then held by Christopher Daniels. The brackets that year were fielded by competitors such as Kyle O'Reilly, Michael Elgin, Adam Cole, Mike Bennett, and Grizzly Redwood. When the fighting was all said and done, it was “The Prodigy” that came out on top after defeating O'Reilly in the finals and who would go on to unsuccessfully challenge Daniels at “Defy or Deny”.

Well ROH Match Maker Nigel McGuinness was decided that he wanted to kick off 2013 in much the same fashion and on January 5th, when we return to Baltimore for the first “Ring of Honor Wrestling” TV tapings of the new year, the Top Prospect Tournament will return!

“There are too many talented young wrestlers out there.” said Nigel “And sadly, despite their talents, not a lot of them get that opportunity to shine on the big stage. Well in 2013 we will see those wrestlers just such a chance with the return of this tournament. Eight men will field the brackets, all who have seen ROH competition in the past, some haven't cemented a spot and some who are even under contract but have yet to truly breakout. This is your chance boys, your chance to step up to plate and knock it out and show me and the Ring of Honor fans why you deserve this opportunity. And sunshine, I promise that the winner of this will have something special waiting for them on the other side.”

Just what that special opportunity will be remains to be seen but what we do know is that the first participant in the tournament will be announced tomorrow right here on ROHWrestling.com! In the meantime, get your tickets for our first live event of 2013 right here in the ROH Store!

The next two entrants into the 2013 Top Prospect Tournament have been named and they are:

Silas Young

In addition to his years of working his tail off around the independent wrestling scene, this midwest standout recently took it to “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin at “Brew City Beatdown” and seriously impressed ROH officials. Now he has the opportunity to stand at the top of pack with a victory in the 2013 TPT!

Mike Sydal

Sydal has been fighting to get a regular spot on the ROH roster and has put in impressive performances against numerous opponents but has yet to score that big victory to secure his position. An outstanding showing in the 2013 TPT could be just the ticket Sydal needs to become a fixture in ROH and prove he has what it takes to named the Top Prospect!

ACH, Marshall, Young, & Sydal...there are four men athletes still to join the field for the 2013 Top Prospect Tournament so make sure you check back here at ROHWrestling.com after the holiday to see who else will have their chance to breakout on January 5th in Baltimore!

I wonder if Bobby Fish would be added to the tournament.

If not, then I see him and O'Reilly in the tag team gauntlet.
Looks like the Wolves, Red Dragon, and SCUM could be in it. But who else?
Hopefully not the Headbangers.
Hopefully we get some new team, a surprise team (Young Bucks or some CHIKARA team), or someone pulls double duty.
