It's funny you say that, because I think there's more criticisms of ROH on this forum than you might think (and that's not a bad thing at all).

Yeah, I mean, I'm sure there are certainly a few people who will defend every aspect of the product to a fault, like any promotion, but when you take the people who are most active on this site into account, the exact opposite is probably more accurate. This board is far more negative/outright nitpicky of their namesake than probably any other wrestling message board dedicated to a particular promotion that I can think of off the top of my head, apart from czwfans.

Get there early and get in line early. I went through right away without really having to wait. But there were a bunch of people still in line when the show started and signing ended that didn't get through or had to get refunds.

Bullet Club opened the Dearborn War Of The World show with a promo and
Spoiler: show
Bullet Club vs The Briscoes, MCMG & Adam Page
was set for the main event.

I prefer them doing that better than having MCMG ended by DQ or No Contest to set the tag match.

Spoiler: show
ACH took the mic and praised Sydal. He said over the last year, Sydal taught him way too much. Sydal had his back, when people didn't want him to have his back. ACH said that he can't allow Sydal to hold his hand anymore. He said that tonight, he's going to be his own man and he's going to let it flow himself. He thanked Sydal and hugged him.
Kamaitachi also in the show tonight for the dark match

Meltzer says Liger is off the show tonight due to the Addiction dropping him on his head last night.

Monster Mafia: I can easily respect someone's opinion and think that they are totally wrong at the same time. People who think Delirious is a good booker are totally wrong IMO. He's ridiculously bad, as is the NJPW/ROH deal for ROH. Because once NJPW breaks that deal off, ROH is fucked.

NJPW/ROH helped ROH a lot more that it hurt them in my opinion. Last years had been the best in the company history in terms of crowds because of New Japan and they also keeped talent a little bit longer thanks to that.

Yes, so far it has helped. But if New Japan ever pulls that deal off the table, or if issues ever occur between the 2, which lets face it is entirely impossible, ROH is fucked. There are no credible stars in the entire promotion other than Lethal right now. Delirious needs to build his roster and stop relying on NJPW talent to sell the big shows.

I would argue that ROH would be fucked even if they had their own stars if that happen. You can build your own stars but without New Japan they are not going to stay enough to make a difference.

I mean it's possible but wouldn't you rather have a solid plan B rather than just relying on outside talent? Why can't you build your own guys, make them stars and then also have the New Japan deal?

Yeah i think that is a good point, but i can also see why they keep bringing New Japan over time and time again, if you know as a company that by doing that you are going to make good money it´s hard to avoid it.

Pearce gets a lot of deserving shit for 2009. With that said, he deserves major credit for the star power depth of 2010. Although he'd get canned and Silkin went deep in red that year, there was still incredible star power on that roster after bringing the puro imports to a screeching halt at the end of 2009. (Liger's appearance in January 2010 was part of a multi-promotional weekend.)

Black, Hero, Castagnoli, Daniels, Aries, Steen, Generico, Strong, and Richards were all to varying degrees taken seriously as ROH title contenders. All of them truly underground-bred, no breaking out in any major league federations beforehand. Johnston has never come close to having a main event picture that deep, and that was after the departure of Danielson and McGuinness plus no more KENTA, Morishima, or Marufuji.

i think that if njpw is gone...roh can make it good, they have the talent but they gonna need improve some things...roh roster is amazing.

I don't disagree on the over-reliance on NJPW, but to say they're fucked if the deal falls apart and act like they had some crazy momentum before Global Wars 2014 wouldn't be accurate. In reality, the worst case scenario is likely the business dipping back to late 2013 (pre AJ & NJPW) levels. I'd argue that they'll likely maintain a level higher than that regardless because the non NJPW city crowds have grown since then as has their viewership.

The reality is that the relationship has been a great thing for the company in a number of ways (how many guys under contract right now wouldn't be had there not been this arrangement?). I'm thinking back to 2 years ago and trying to imagine that a big issue in 2016 is that there was too much New Japan and they were booked too strong.

I think part of the reason the super hardcore crowd over-estimates the potential damage is they don't have a balanced view of what ROH is as a business. We aren't talking about coming down off an Attitude Era high with a giant corporation to feed. It's a promotion averaging about 900 fans a show that 2 years ago was averaging about 700. This isn't Goldberg ending the streak, here, folks.

I'm enjoying the ride and actually think that what happened with AJ, Nakamura, etc... makes it much less likely that New Japan abandons their ROH relationship anytime soon.

Looks like @DownWtheFlakes on Twitter is putting out results from tonight's show. Here they are so far:

- Kamaitachi def. Will Ferrara (Dark Match)
- ACH & Matt Sydal def. Silas Young & The Beer City Bruiser
- Roderick Strong def. Lio Rush
- War Machine def. Okada & Gedo
- KUSHIDA def. Dalton Castle.

Sucks that Liger is off tonight's show. Saw some pictures, and he was out there (apparently he ran off Strong and did commentary during KUSHIDA/Castle), so hopefully it's not a serious injury. Here's to hoping they do Strong/Liger in Toronto if he's ok to wrestle. Happy to hear that Lio Rush got that spot though. Strong vs. Rush is a worthy replacement IMO.
