ROH Returns to NJ
ROH just posted on their Facebook that they will be returning to New Jersey on October 6th at the Rahway Rec Center.
Now I believe ROH ran shows at the Rahway Rec Center in the early days but I'm not sure (correct me if I'm wrong).
Discuss thoughts & predicitons here!!

I'm not certain if they've done the Rahway, but their early home base was the Murphy Rec. DGUSA and EVOLVE have used the Rahway a lot.

Just checked ROH hasn't done shows in Rahway before.syxxpakk wrote:I'm not certain if they've done the Rahway, but their early home base was the Murphy Rec. DGUSA and EVOLVE have used the Rahway a lot.
Other than the shows you just mentioned Chikara ran there for the first time back in April I think (I'll Be a Mummy's Uncle).
I guess it counts as a NYC show since it's only a 30 + minute drive from Manhattan so it should have a good crowd. Don't know the building's capacity for wrestling shows though (as far as attendance is concerned)

Re: ROH Returns to NJ
NJ was a regular market for ROH up until late 2008/early 2009. They used to run Elizabeth and then Edison so a return might work out pretty fruitful, or at least we hope it does!

Very excited for this indeed.

Isnt the Rahway Rec Center where JAPW, PWS and Chikara run?
If so then that is a familiar place for fans and should draw well

I totally agree. it was sad remembering how many folks were crammed into the building in Edison for Final Battle '05 and then comparing it to their last show there.GardenStateSaint wrote:Awesome news and long overdue.

Yes but Chikara has only ran there once, and it was this past April.YimYac wrote:Isnt the Rahway Rec Center where JAPW, PWS and Chikara run?

I hope/really think the turnout will do well enough for them to return in a relatively quick fashion. But then again I said the same about Philly in January.

Such great news! My first ROH show in 2008 was in the Inmann Sports Club in Edison and ever since then i have been such a big ROH fan. Havent missed a new york show since Final Battle 2008. I have a feeling they are doing this to rebuild the market and then announce a return date the saturday of Wrestlemania Weekend. Just a thought though.

When you look at the card for the last NJ show, it's not hard to understand why. The big blow to that show was Kenta being injured and being replaced by Delirious. I've always liked Delirious, but he's a far cry from Kenta. New Jersey was a great market for ROH. Hopefully, it can be again.dark patriot wrote:I totally agree. it was sad remembering how many folks were crammed into the building in Edison for Final Battle '05 and then comparing it to their last show there.GardenStateSaint wrote:Awesome news and long overdue.

There is any posibility of having a doubleheader with ROH-JAPW here? I think JAPW had a show in the same date.

Like Chikara-JAPW this April?187_Joeism wrote:There is a posibility of having a doubleheader with ROH-JAPW here? I think JAPW had a show in the same date.

I think you're right. They probably want to test the waters out a bit. If they do a decent gate then they'll probably announce a show for Wrestlemania weekend. There is no logical reason for ROH to have just one show on that weekend.Mr. Orange wrote:Such great news! Re: ROH Returns to NJ
The argument for the one-show weekend presented in the WON was that it would allow them to focus on building up one event (instead of two) plus they wouldn't have to face all the competition that's set for the weekend.

That makes sense. I actually like this approach.syxxpakk wrote:The argument for the one-show weekend presented in the WON was that it would allow them to focus on building up one event (instead of two) plus they wouldn't have to face all the competition that's set for the weekend.
