when tana/Okada had their last match the stip was that it was Tana's last chance at Okada during his title reign if he lost. so they kept that stip and it's been 10 months since they had a match. It's not the freshest match they could do but it's probably the biggest. with only 2 days to advertise the offical main event at the Seibu Dome, it makes perfect sense they'd headline with Tanahashi/Okada. should be a great match

Look at every great Japanese rivalry. Pretty much all of them get revisited.

At some point in 2015 or 2016 one of them will be holding the belt for a prolonged period. Don't see why they wouldn't let the other challenge.

I thought it would be this as well, although my feelings started to change when Nakamura & Tanahashi were still tied, but what happened on today's show confirmed my original picks.

Wow, I predicted those at the beginning, then suddenly had a feeling Goto would go far, then at the end couldn't beleive they'd let Smith go over Tanahashi. Fantastic matches though.

Also, screw Benjamin. Poor Honma.

I'm so excited for the Finals! It's the biggest match they could possibly do and I think they are going to have two great matches. I also don't know who's going to win. I didn't think we were getting Naka vs Okada until the Tokyo Dome so I assumed whichever one of those guys got to the finals would win but now I have no idea. I am going to stay up and watch it live after getting home from the Philly ROH Show.

I also think Honma will get his victory during the Finals Show. It will be an even bigger pop with a huge crowd at the Seibu Dome.

Honma wins this for me. I had 3 of his matches rated **** 1/4 and one at **** 3/4. His worst match was Day 3 vs Gallows which still got ***.

Of AJ Style's 10 matches, amazingly I have all of them rated above *** 1/2 stars. Highlight was ****1/2 vs Suzuki. 2 other **** matches too.

Tanahashi surprised me slightly that he was ahead of Ishii/Shibata. His consistency was very good. Two matches at *** 1/4 were his "worst". 3 matches at **** or better.

I love Ishii, what a warrior he is. He's still the favorite to win 2014 Most Outstanding wrestler to this point. We'll see what his fitness level is the rest of the year though? injuries may hurt his chances if an AJ Styles or Honma or Okada come on strong

10) Nakamura/Benjamin (Day 6) **1/4 I don't remember this match but I have written down Benjamin's german's looked like shit. Weird flow, no transitions or selling , rushed
9) Tenzan/Yujiro (Day 3) **1/4
8) Gallows/Fale (Day 6) **1/4
7) Yujiro/Makabe (Day 6) **1/4 Makabe had been doing the exact same matches at this point, only this time it was Yujiro who was worse than the other opponents
6) Tenzan/Yano (Day 8) ** ref bump. Yano tapped but ref was down. Yano tried a chair shot that was countered, very awkward ref sorta saw but wasn't supposed to. quick and not well executed
5) Goto/Yano (Day 4) *3/4 Quick low blow finish as usual. Sure did Goto no favors with this result
4) Davey Boy/Fale (Day 10) *3/4 Not good when you hear people making fun of your match. I've heard a few. Only comment I have for this match was "grenade looked like shit as a finish"
3) Yujiro/Yano (Day 11) *1/4 Yujiro kickout at 1 of low blow to 0 reaction. Pretty dumb. he had a cup on which I've seen before and it was better
2) Yano/Suzuki (Day 1) 3/4* In hindsight this wasn't that bad. The crowd was in shock when Yano won so quickly. I was down on the match coming into the show because they wrestle every show and it's always the same. I thought then and do now that the result was dumb too. The best part was that it was over quickly
1) Yano/Makabe (Day 10) 1/2* Short and pointless. Having comedy Yano beat supposed tough guy Makabe was a pretty dumb result
