Will Ospreay, the U.K.'s most talked about young wrestler debuted tonight with TNA, but ended up losing in 5:00 in what was either a dark match or a match taped for Xplosion against Mark "Mandrews" Andrews.
Apparently, the plan was to push Ospreay but TNA found out that he had signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling and decided not to put him on the main show.
It is not certain when Ospreay will debut with New Japan other than he had been scheduled to be in this year's Best of the Super Juniors tournament in May and June.

with subs in english
Re: The NJPW Thread
It's only for the big shows, the two you mentioned and King of Pro Wrestling. They also have matches from the RPW shows last year in English. You can check out the list of all English Commentary videos at http://njpwworld.com/search/tag/mic_82.9 ball wrote:Can anyone tell me if the English version of NJPW World always have English commentary or is it only for the big shows & if yes what are the big shows apart from wrestle kingdom & New Years Dash?.

Observer:
Expect some major moves regarding New Japan World over the next year. At least some big things are in the talking stage. Apparently, no matter how it is positioned publicly, New Japan was very surprised at how little traction the service got within its home country. There wasn’t much thought of outside Japan, as evidenced by no English language site and sign-up page, but they were thinking 100,000 within Japan along would be no problem within a year given the cost and past iPPV performance, and they less than one-third there. Apparently they were way down financially as far as profitability of the big shows from the iPPV days to the New Japan World era, although as noted last week, the company is a profitable entity

Ibushi vs. Styles in its entirety played on AXS. A definite 4 star match. My main point is Kenny Omega. He was standoffish during and after the match. He acted very un-Kenny Omega like. Yes, Ibushi was his former tag team partner, but does anyone think the groundwork for his takeover for the Bullet Club began here? I can't imagine Gedo booking that far in advance. Just wondering if anyone had seen this and what their thoughts were.

I wish they would make a Roku channel. Not sure how popular roku is in Japan, though.supersonic wrote:Observer:

Re: The NJPW Thread
Observer:
Owner Takaaki Kidani said they are going to offer Kazuchika Okada a five-year contract, from April 2016 to April 2021, unheard of historically, because they want to build around him and make sure he doesn’t go to WWE. He also said the company has earmarked a $2 million marketing budget to make Okada a mainstream star. Kidani said that they are going to have to offer longer contracts to the top stars because they don’t want to turn into WWE’s minor league feeder system

Considering that was likely done just as a way to write him out of NJPW, I don't think that was ever the plan there.Mr. Mojo Risin wrote:Ibushi vs. Styles in its entirety played on AXS. Okay, so... what is even the point of the NEVER six man belts at this point? They just change hands every show.

I'm still trying to find the original point of even having the NEVER six man belts. The NEVER titles suck. The NEVER title is useless. Shibata is being wasted with that title.Big Red Machine wrote:Okay, so... what is even the point of the NEVER six man belts at this point? They just change hands every show.

With the exception of the IWGP hvwt. title, there's really not any point to any of the belts NJPW hasBig Red Machine wrote:Okay, so... what is even the point of the NEVER six man belts at this point? They just change hands every show.

Re: The NJPW Thread
The trios belts could mean something if they were to unify both sets of tag titles and just make the new division openweight, and turn the NEVER singles title as the link between the juniors and the heavyweights instead of the bastard child version of Big Japan's Strong title.Mr. Mojo Risin wrote:I'm still trying to find the original point of even having the NEVER six man belts.
