Nakamura must have refused to do the job to Omega.

Or more likely, they don't want to do a big title change on a random "Road to" show at Korakuen if he's done after January 31st.

Or it's because they obviously don't give a shit about their titles, maybe with the exception of the IWGP title
I was in the front line when we battled page 15

Anyone think they'll make the New Japan cup an IC title tourney?

Nope. Here are the top matches on the cards for the New Beginning tour (note the IWGP Intercontinental Title Match):

* Nakamura's Final NJPW Match - 1/30/16 - Hiroshi Tanahashi, Katsuyori Shibata & Hirooki Goto vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuchika Okada, & Tomohiro Ishii

The New Beginning in Osaka
Osaka, Japan 2/11/16

- IWGP Heavyweight Title - "Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada vs. Hirooki Goto
- IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles - The Young Bucks vs. reDRagon vs. Matt Sydal & Ricochet
- NEVER Openweight Title - Katsuyori Shibata vs. Tomohiro Ishii
- NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Titles - Toru Yano & The Briscoes vs. The Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga, & Yujiro Takahashi)

The New Beginning in Niigata
Niigata, Japan 2/14/16

- IWGP Intercontinental Title (VACANT) - Kenny Omega vs. "X"
- IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles - Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma vs. The Bullet Club (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows)
- IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title - KUSHIDA vs. BUSHI

I hope it's literally the wrestler X, from TNA played by Pierre Carl Ouellet.

I'm going to make four guesses as to who it will be facing Omega for the IC title.
-Tanahashi
-Goto
-Naito
-Yoshitatsu

I can't imagine Goto in another title match on the same tour. Probably going to be Tanahashi, Naito or a returning Ibushi.

Hopefully returning Ibushi. I would say Naito, but I don't really see heel vs heel happening.

Joe Lanza from Voices of Wrestling noted on the VOW forums yesterday that he's been told by two different sources that the "mystery opponent" is NOT Tanahashi, so there's that.

As far as who it can be, seeing Omega/Ibushi would be cool, but they could save that for a bigger show. Same for Omega/Tanahashi.

Why couldn't Goto be in two title matches on the same tour? It would be unexpected, it wouldn't really hurt to have him lose a second title match because it's not like you'd need to spend any more time building him up, and you can use the whole "losing two big title matches on the same tour" thing as the beginning of a storyline that culminates in him redeeming himself by winning the G1 and winning one of the big title and finally being the top guy that everyone but Jado and Gedo seem to know that he has the talent to be.

Goto lose to Okada & Omega and win New Japan Cup or G1 is not cool.
I prefer X is Yujiro Takahashi(Hometown Guy) as a loser.

Why not? It's a story about redemption, and that works best when you tear someone down first.
I agree that he can't win the New Japan Cup after losing to both of them, but there is no reason you can't start building him up to win the G1 after that.

Goto win NewJapanCup 3 times (and still can't become top star)
That's enough! Too much! No more!

Do you think winning the G1 and then winning the title at Tokyo Dome would do it for him, or do you just think he's already too damaged at this point?

They obviously fooled everyone.
AJ Styles will announce he has signed an exclusive contract with ROH on the 01/23/16 show and will be the wrestler "X" against Omega.

Dave Metlzer made mention on Twitter that Will Ospreay has apparently signed with NJPW:
@davemeltzerWON 1h1 hour ago
TNA was mad because Osprey signed with NJPW and they didn't know it.

TNA being the masters of diplomacy then have Ospreay job in 5 minutes on their show. Gee, they're not vindictive or anything are they? Good for Ospreay on signing with New Japan.
