Ah, hadn't put two and two together and realised they overlapped. Was just using Ospreay as an example though.Thelone wrote:Ospreay is in the Progress tournament which takes place at the same time as BOSJ.

Re: The NJPW Thread
would not mind seeing okada & shinsuke nakamura (as CHAOS) team up and win the IWGP heavyweight tag titles. this would be an interesting dynamic especially if this created a three-way feud with the kingdom & the bullet club. then at some point okada or nakamura (preferably nakamura) wins the IWGP heavyweight singles title, causing some form of drama between them. . . blah, blah, blah. at some point, would like to see okada with the intercontinental title. he could help elevate upcoming talent by having a significant reign.PeoplesChampion wrote:Shinsuke will get the title back and okada will be winning the iwgp.they are doing this for years now iwgp ic is shinsuke title, while iwgp is okada title and now never is ishii title.Robareid wrote:Nakamura finally moves back into the World title scene after this, and Goto gets a chance at feeling really important again. It's a win-win.

Re: The NJPW Thread
I see basically zero chance of either of those two things happening anytime soon.
Re: The NJPW Thread
They could do a cool long term story with Goto and Shibata over the IC.

Re: The NJPW Thread
okada as the intercontinental champion opens up possibilities. he can keep prestige on the title like shinsuke nakamura, and let's nakamura spend some time mixing it up in the heavyweight title scene. NJPW needs to change their dynamic up, especially with the influx of gaijin.

This is probably true, although since I started watching at G1 last year I wouldn't mind it.Sandy Fork wrote:Goto/Shibata is so overdone.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe new episodes of NJPW on AXS TV return tomorrow night.

O'Reilly in the final. Mark it down.
Re: The NJPW Thread
Yeah, block A is pretty much done already and O'Reilly vs. Gedo on the last night will be the key match.

O'Reilly vs KUSHIDA seems like a good bet for the final

Re: The NJPW Thread
On another note-
I just started following NJPW the beginning of this year, even getting New Japan World to do so. I love it! That said though, why is the camera work so bad? Many times big moves are missed, wrestlers seldom pose for the hard camera before or after matches, extreme close ups far too often. I don't need to see the nose hairs of the wrestlers, pan back once in a while! It's not unbearable, but it's some of the worst camera work I've ever seen in wrestling.

For some reason they often don't work to the hard cam, which I don't really get why.WDRLeavelle wrote:On another note-

I will say that I absolutely love the zoom out when Okada hits the Rainmaker pose.
