They don't really do DVDs. The IVP ones are good, but they're not official, they're basically high quality bootlegs apart from there is no legal alternative so NJPW lets it happen.

They do have their version of the WWE Network.

At the time being I don't have internet access very often and I've never watched
any NJPW shows. With the hype around the upcoming show I wanted to check out
More of the product they offer. Once I get internet again I'll look into that.

I must say the GFW YouTube videos have been great. Matt Striker breaks down each match with a history lesson of those involved, tons of clips, and why it matters.

bravo GFW

But I'm pretty sure you'd need a courier service for those, and they cost between $40-80 each. From what I've heard, they don't have a physical media culture over there, so very few people buy DVDs so the prices are super high for those that do want them.

Still getting used to navigating NJPW World but I like it a lot.

So far I've watched

Liger vs Sano
Dick Murdoch vs Adrian Adonis
Dick Murdoch vs Abdullah the Butcher
Nakamura and Goto vs Sugiura and Misawa
Devitt vs Ibushi

Plan to watch all of the Brody/Inoki matches. And obviously, WK9 this weekend.

Happy camper.

For anyone who hasn't heard, Voices of Wrestling put together an in-depth, New Japan 2014 Yearbook (in ebook format). From what I've heard, it's nearly 400 pages, and is supposed to be available within the next day or two.

Will be available on a pay what you want (free is an option) format, and is basically the 2014 New Japan prospectus.

Why do you guys even argue with Chris2000? He literally just complained about Okada vs Tanahashi wrestling for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. A rivalry that's considered by many to be the best wrestling in 15 years. And he complains about it for the reason that "they aren't true heavyweights."

The only reason I read his posts is for the lulz. How anyone on here takes this guy seriously is beyond me.
What's been so great about it then? I havent' heard one thing about it, in fact I had to wiki both guys.
All of this is everything anyone needs to know about Chris20000

These are *my* favorite (93) matches from NJPW for 2014 (the Julian {1/1-12/31} calendar and not the Meltzian calendar). I watched everything from New Japan (well, everything deemed worthy of a VoW review).
There are 3 matches that I couldn’t find at the time I was ready to watch them that were fairly well rated, but not anything close to MOTYC or anything – I’ll update this list with an edited post when/if I find them. They are: Tanahashi & The TimeSplitters vs. Naito, Ibushi, & El Desperado; Tanahashi & Naito vs. Goto & Shibata; and Nakamura vs. Kojima.
Would love to see this spark some discussion, but remember the emphasis on *my*! There are no right or wrong answers here, only personal opinion, (hopefully) healthy discussion, and an appreciation of the art of pro wrestling.

Jr Tag ***1/2
Ishii/Makabe **** (Won't be everyones cup of tea)
Omega/Taguchi *** (Omega is fucking unbelievable.)
Doc n Gun vs Goto/Shibata ***1/2
AJ/Naito ***3/4
Nakamura/Ibushi *****
Tanahashi/Okada *****
Spoiler: show
Nakamura/Ibushi was the MOTN and will be the MOTY. It'll literally be impossible to top. Might be my favorite match ever, I can't really think right now. Post show buzz hasn' tworn off. They did all the little things perfectly. Facial expressions, story, etc. I kind of feel weird giving the main ***** as well because it wasn't as good as the IC match, but I had to after seeing Okada's reaction. Perfect story, phenomenal match, and character development for Okada. His character will change a bit, and he's going to be more sympathetic now, which is fucking perfect.
Ibushi/Tanahashi and Nakamura/Okada at the Dome next year please.
