Hero chided whoever 'broke' the story as it being untrue. I just saw the posted match of him and Cody. It almost looks like he's put on more weight. I don't care (hell, I was Dusty fan), but if he has, the 'E' might be wary of signing him if it looks like he's putting on more.

Riddle has improved a lot. I'm kind of surprised he hasn't been signed. He's someone, that, unlike Biff Busick (I really have no idea why they signed him since it's been, what, a year, and they don't use him for anything), I suspect they would use kind of quickly.

Nah I think it's just that Hero hasn't officially been offered a deal and/or signed yet. Obviously things could change.

Gabe needs this. With Gulak and Nese leaving, ACH should help. Can't help but wonder who else is on their way.

Hero is booked against Sabre Jr. To me, that's a sign that he's on his way out (this is Gabe making sure that Zack finally gets the win over Hero that he's been chasing).

Great point. Maybe he is on the way out.

We are letting Hero pick his opponent for EVOLVE 76. Hero will be in a singles match on this event. Hero told us he wants to pick someone who can carry independent wrestling into the future. We'll have more on this next week.
Chris Hero vs. Zack Sabre Jr. is confirmed as Hero's last match at EVOLVE 77. This classic rivalry will have a final chapter on January 28th.

From their update "We will say goodbye to Chris Hero at EVOLVE on January 27th and 28th. These will be the final shows ever for Chris Hero."

Hero is definitely gone given he's re-signed to NXT

Anybody else underwhelmed by Evolve? I purchased the iPPV events up through August, and not a single one was better than just good. Gave up on it, but decided to give Floslam a chance since it was so much cheaper. Watched the rest of 2016 and still meh. Some good matches, some great matches, but the overall shows were always underwhelming. I even watched Style Battle one and FIP. SB was decent at best. FIP was beyond horrible. One of the worst shows I've ever seen. Total shit with mostly bad wrestling, embarrassing gimmicks, and a ring announcer who seems to think tossing an f-bomb into every sentence makes it "adult". The wrestlers I didn't know I never wish to see again. The wrestlers I do know, I kinda wish I didn't know them. With an average at best 2016 for Evolve, and these two being overall bad, I canceled Floslam. Still have it to watch the next two Evolve shows, but don't have high hopes. Anybody else feel that way?

Keith Lee is starting out in a big way. Chris Hero told us he wanted to wrestle someone that could step up and carry the independents. We have found that man in Keith Lee. It will be Hero vs. Lee at EVOLVE 76 on January 27th.

Here are the cards, as they stand now, for the shows in San Antonio:

Evolve 76

- Evolve Tag Team Titles - Catch Point (Tracy Williams & Fred Yehi) vs. Jeff Cobb & Evolve Champion Timothy Thatcher (with Stokely Hathaway)
- Chris Hero vs. Keith Lee
- "All Ego" Ethan Page vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
- ACH vs. Matt Riddle
- DUSTIN vs. Jason Kincaid
- Jaka vs. Peter Kaasa

Evolve 77

- Evolve Title - Timothy Thatcher (with Stokely Hathaway) vs. Jeff Cobb
- Chris Hero vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
- No DQ Match - DUSTIN vs. Matt Riddle
- Evolve Tag Team Champion Fred Yehi vs. ACH
- Evolve Tag Team Champion Track Williams vs. Laredo Kid

I don't know if anyone else thinks, but it feels like Evolve is slowly starting to move away from being the promotion that was based around the grappling style (or "grapplef*ck" as some call it). I mean, they still have the likes of Thatcher, Riddle, Williams, Yehi, & ZSJ, but with people like ACH, Keith Lee, Chris Dickinson, Jaka, & Jason Kincaid becoming regulars, the roster looks more eclectic.

I agree . I found Evolve to be unwatchable. I really tried , but I threw in the towel after Evolve 11 . It found the whole presentation of Evolve to be very boring. Poor production , dead crowds , no meaningful angles , idiotic factions that were forced upon the viewer , annoying generic theme music and very bland wrestling matches. PWG and AAW put on better shows. You can see most of the same guys without having to suffer thur an Evolve show.

I have been down on EVOLVE pretty much since Ricochet won the belt from Gargano three years ago. Not that they can't have enjoyable shows, but I feel very little investment in the product based on their choice in talents that they push in favor of talents that I enjoy more in the midcard/undercard that do not get much to do. Even with talents towards the top that I do enjoy watching like Hero and Galloway, everything feels pretty dry especially when away from a big weekend where they have their usual crowds which really detract from the atmosphere on top of angles that feel forcefed and do not really create much investment emotionally or logically. It's been a while since I have left an EVOLVE show that I watched thinking "that was a great show" which did happen even in front of tiny crowds. Hopefully with some new additions to the roster like ACH and Kieth Lee, things can shake up a bit for them.

I thought the Evolve show Mania week last year in Dallas was pretty good...that was my second live Evolve show.

Galloway and Gargano were pretty good together.

Catch Point were pretty cool. Having Ospreay and Sabre Jr was nuts. What a match.

Show did seem to run a bit long, but thought it was good.
