I thought Dick Togo retired a few years ago? I remember they kept talking about his farewell tour during his match with El Generico in PWG a few years ago?

Some dreadful reshuffling there, but that's what happens when you book 12 talents a show and show no initiative at changing that formula. Losing Hero/Riddle and Sabre/Yehi were major blows to Orlando particularly. No clue on who Riddle's opponent could be and it is pretty poor if they don't announce it prior.

Can't imagine how anyone could be invested in Thatcher/Page in that heel/heel encounter or Thatcher/Gulak again, especially so soon after their last match.

Via WWN Alerts:
October 14th: BREAKING NEWS- We have learned that Drew Galloway is bringing AR Fox back to EVOLVE to wrestle Matt Riddle this Saturday at EVOLVE 70 in Orlando, FL! Fox was the first EVOLVE Champion, however he hasn't been in EVOLVE in over a year after a falling out with EVOLVE management. The situation actually got very nasty on social media. This is quite a coup for Galloway in his war to "save EVOLVE from itself." Fox vs. Riddle is on for tomorrow night!

So am I reading this FloSport announcement correctly? Access to the live WWNLive iPPV events PLUS an archived library of every single WWNLive event dating to 2003 for $20 a month? So all the DGUSA events, all the past Evolve events, and the live Evolve events from this day forward? Considering I have spent $30 a month for just the two Evolve shows that month, this sounds like a pretty damn good bargain.

Everybody else reading it like I am?

Good for Gabe for having zero tolerance for that bullshit. Styles is a jabroni for inserting his political views and could care less if his outdated act is ever heard from again.

So there have been some big news items related to WWNLive over the last fews days. First, they're starting a new tournament-based promotion called Style Battle:
Ybor City, FL- WWN is excited to announce Style Battle, a new promotion which will feature a tournament on every show. Style Battle will premiere on January 7th at The Orpheum in Ybor City, FL. We'll have ticket and more information soon at the all new WWNLive.com. Style Battle will live stream exclusively at FloSlam.tv.

Style Battle will be the ultimate test for competitors. It will provide a new opportunity for wrestlers. Each Style Battle will feature a variety of wrestling styles. We will find out who is truly the most skilled on every event.

Style Battle has been an annual tournament in EVOLVE since 2011 with various formats. Now it will occur almost monthy with an eight man, single elimination tournament. Style Battle will take place in "seasons." Each season will consist of nine events. There will be eight tournaments. The eight winners will then be in Style Battle Season Finale on the ninth event of the season. This will determine the Style Battle Champion of that season. In the event that all the winners aren't available, Style Battle will pick an "all star" substitute who impressed in a previous tournament.

"Tournaments can provide drama and excitement unlike anything else in wrestling," WWN VP Of Talent Relations & Creative Gabe Sapolsky said. "This will be a unique opportunity for upcoming wrestlers, today's stars and veterans looking to prove something to showcase their wrestling style."

"This adds more diversity to the WWN lineup on FloSlam," WWN President Sal Hamaoui said. "FloSlam will now have Style Battle, EVOLVE, FIP, SHINE, ACW and WWN Supershows. Each brand will bring something different to the Network. This gives the fans even more value for their money."

WWN will announce the participants and more details in the upcoming weeks.
Then, just today, they announced the creation of the WWN Championship:
Ybor City, FL- The World Wrestling Network (WWN) will crown the first ever WWN Champion in Orlando, FL on April 1st at the WWN Supershow: Mercury Rising 2017. Go to www.MoreThanMania.com for more event info. The WWN Supershow will be broadcast at www.FloSlam.tv live.

The WWN Family is a variety of promotions, each with its own championships. Now that all the WWN promotions are broadcast live on FloSlam, WWN officials have decided to tie everything together with a WWN Champion. The WWN Champion will defend the WWN Title across WWN promotions. The format of the tournament to crown the first WWN Champion will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

The WWN Family includes:

-EVOLVE: The prestige men's promotion.
-SHINE: The prestige women's promotion.
-Full Impact Pro: The Wild West promotion.
-Style Battle: A tournament based promotion.
-American Combat Wrestling: The old school, regional promotion
-WWN Supershow: A conglomerate of all the promotions on one special event.

The WWN Champion will stand on top of The WWN Family. Who will represent WWN into the FloSlam era? Stay tuned.

I am asking for honest analysis here: What am I missing about Timothy Thatcher? I think he's boring as fuck being the Evolve champion. Granted my viewing has been minimal so I could be way off the mark here. If I am let me know what shows you would recommend to change my mind. Thanks.

I think the thing about him is supposed to be the sort of "quiet dignity" type of thing. As a personality I would quite call him boring so much as someone I don't find interesting, but I definitely understand where you're coming from. As for matches, I'd definitely check out his match with Gargano at Evolve 51 or the recent match against Gulak at Evolve 72.

Honestly, Thatcher's best matches this year (in my opinion) in Evolve have been the Anything Goes/No Holds Barred Matches he's been involved in over the last few months (vs. Riddle in a No Holds Barred Match from Evolve 66, vs. Gulak in a Street Fight at Evolve 71 and the Squared Circle of Survival at Evolve 72).

Based on what both you and BRM have suggested, the Gulak match from Evolve 72 seems to be the common denominator for me to start at. Thanks guys.

Thatcher somewhat reminds me of a William Regal starter kit. Maybe even more of the "Man's man" version....lol

As a warning, that match is rather different than just about any match I've ever seen, so it might not be the most perfect representation of the usual Thatcher at his best.
