No way. His match against Shingo last year was the most people talked about DGUSA in forever.

It won't be a title defense, since their no chance in hell he's retaining against Ricochet. Still should be a very good match though.

I think I'll be ordering Evolve and both Dragon Gate USA shows. Lets see if they can deliver....

Finally, this is kinda related since it's within the WWNLive Experience, but the Wrestling Odyssey Show is featuring Drew Gulak vs. Timothy Thatcher for the CZW World Title in a British Rounds Rules Match. Yes you read that right....The CZW World Title being defended in a classic British Wrestling-Style Match.

Minus the early iPPV problems, the show has been pretty enjoyable thus far. Green Ant/Chicago sort of dragged, but it was entertaining. I've been a Konley supporter for awhile now, but he really put on a show in a crazy match against Fox. I thought The Gentlemen's Club was going to beat The Bravado's for the United Gate Championships, but I guess the Bravado's live to fight another day.

It looks like Evolve is neck and neck with TNA.

Just got done watching. Here's a quick review:

Evolve 28
New Orleans, Louisiana 4/3/14

1.) Biff Busick vs. Drew Gulak: ***1/2

2.) Green Ant vs. Maxwell Chicago: **1/4

3.) AR Fox vs. Caleb Konley: ***1/2

4.) Open The United Gate Tag Team Titles - The Bravados vs. The Gentlemen's Club: **

5.) Ricochet vs. Anthony Nese: ***1/2

6.) Johnny Gargano vs. Rich Swann: ***3/4

7.) Evolve Title - Chris Hero vs. Trent Baretta: ***1/2

Overall: 7.5/10

Some really good wrestling on here, but the big story was the booking, particularly the finishes, which prevented this from being a great show.

Nah, Evolve has lazers, TNA had to sell their lazers to pay for Bobby Lashley.

The show had a 40+ Minute Intermission. It was unbearably long.

I watched the show as well. While there were some good matches, overall it was a drain to watch. It lasted 4 hours with the intermission and didn't end until around 1AM EST which is rough on a Thursday.

Thoughts below:

Evolve 28
New Orleans, Louisiana 4/3/14

1.) Biff Busick vs. Drew Gulak: N/A (Stream was choppy during this so I did not get to see most of which is a shame because it was the match I was most looking forward to).

2.) Green Ant vs. Maxwell Chicago: *1/4

3.) AR Fox vs. Caleb Konley: ***1/4

4.) Open The United Gate Tag Team Titles - The Bravados vs. The Gentlemen's Club: **

5.) Ricochet vs. Anthony Nese: ***1/4

6.) Johnny Gargano vs. Rich Swann: **3/4

7.) Evolve Title - Chris Hero vs. Trent Baretta: Probably around ***1/2 - ***-3/4 but I will need to re watch this once the VOD goes up because I honestly just wanted the show to end at this point and this lasted 30 minutes.

Overall: 6/10

Agreed, the crowd seemed to enjoy it though. Maxwell Chicago is truly awful and not funny. Hope tonight is better.

Actually missed the first two matches (Bravados vs. Nese & Konley and Fox vs. Mr. A). Glad I did. They sounded bad.

On the bright side, Swann/Busick and The Colony/Taylor & Gulak were both pretty solid.

Not really. There was some weird buzzing/static noises at a few points but the stream itself was fine on my end.

Started watching late. Missed the first two matches but got on just in time for Biff Busick vs. Rich Swann. From then on, every match was better than the one before it. Hero/Tanaka & Gargano/Ricochet are well worth going out of your way to see. Ricochet finally ending Gargano's reign was a great moment.

Quick Review:

Open The Ultimate Gate 2014
New Orleans, Louisiana 4/4/14

1.) Open The United Gate Tag Team Titles - The Bravados vs. The Premiere Athlete Brand (Anthony Nese & Caleb Konley): **1/2

2.) AR Fox vs. Mr A: 1/2*

3.) Biff Busick vs. Rich Swann: ***

4.) The Colony (Fire Ant & Green Ant) vs. The Gentlemen's Club (Chuck Taylor & Drew Gulak): ***1/4

5.) Low Ki vs. Trent Baretta: ***1/2

6.) Evolve Champion Chris Hero vs. Masato Tanaka: ****1/2

7.) Open The Freedom Gate Title - Johnny Gargano vs. Ricochet: ****3/4

Overall: 8.75/10

If the first two matches didn't turn out ok and terrible (respectively), the show would have been above a 9.0 for sure.
