Certainly higher profile than the lingerie "MMA" she's been doing lately.

Observer:
The plan for the new season is to go farther in the “supernatural” direction. Ultimately their long-term plan is to create a super babyface and monster heels to spin off for a movie or movies, and recreate something like the El Santo genre, with Rey Mysterio most likely in the Santo role. That was big in the 50s and 60s in Mexico, but they don’t have any television in Mexico

While we don’t have this as official, the strong belief is that Flamita, perhaps under the name Fireball, will be on the new season which starts filming on 11/14 and 11/15 in Boyle Heights. We know that he called all indie promoters in Mexico saying he’s not taking anymore bookings. He had said that when he was offered a deal by AAA which he just accepted that a Lucha Underground spot was part of it. Fireball is one of the best flyers in the world, similar to guys like Fenix, Matt Sydal or Ricochet

Melina Perez, who showed up at the Ultimata Lucha show to help boyfriend Johnny Mundo, has said that she hopes she’ll be involved with the new season of the show.

PWInsider is reporting that Joey Ryan has signed with Lucha Underground. I guess he'll be bringing his "dong style" to The Temple really soon.

Also, Lucha Underground has signed a deal with Pro-Wrestling Tees, so you can now get Lucha Underground T-Shirts there (not actual wrestlers, but generic Lucha Underground T-Shirts).

That's awesome for Ryan, he deserves a contract somewhere.

As for the merch, I remember listening to the Stone Cold podcast with Court Bauer or Eric Van Wagenen where they talked about Lucha Underground merch and the lack of it, how they were probably leaving money on the table. Glad to see they finally pulled the trigger on it. I hope they fill that store with individual shirts for everyone (Like New Japans pro wrestling Tees).

LUCHA UNDERGROUND HEADED TO WRESTLEMANIA WEEKEND?
By Mike Johnson on 2015-12-24 09:15:20

There has been some movement within the last week towards Lucha Underground running events in Texas next year, PWInsider.com has learned.

PWInsider has been told that The El Rey Network series and promotion has reached out to talents under contract who have commitments Wrestlemania week and informed them they may be needed for events in Texas during that time period.

So, it would appear that Lucha Underground is working on putting together something for that week. Stay tuned.

Lucha Underground has secured their first Canadian television rights deal with TLN (Telelatino Network).

The deal will kick off with the Season 2 premiere and will air on Sunday nights at 10pm Eastern in Canada. The first episode premieres in Canada on Sunday January 31st.

TLN is available in 6.2 million homes in Canada and features programming in English, Spanish and Italian with Lucha Underground being presented in English.

The second season of Lucha Underground will be debuting in the U.S. a few days prior, on Wednesday January 27th with tapings for the upcoming season beginning this past November.

Listings for TLN on various Canadian cable outlets are available at www.tln.ca.

Observer:
They signed a TV deal for Canada for season two with TLN, the Telelatino Network, which will air the English language version of the show on Sunday nights at 10 p.m. Eastern. This would be the show that airs the prior Wednesday on El Rey, so the debut in Canada is 1/31 after the 1/27 start of the season.

At this point they still haven’t announced Unimas or any Spanish language broadcast partner. As noted in the early tapings, there was no Spanish announcing team doing live commentary as there was in season one.

They are doing a three-show taping, which I believe will be the second Ultima Lucha, on 1/31 in Boyle Heights, and the end of season two.

A lot of the talent has been posting or making inquiries about weekend booking dates in both February and March, which indicates no tapings during those months. February was always expected like that but originally the word was season three would start filming in March. The only dates after the end of January confirmed are the first weekend in April house show or shows in Texas.

There will be a season trés of @LuchaElRey. Filming will begin this summer. It's all systems go.

Fear not believers, Lucha Underground will be back for Season 3 — Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned the good news was just delivered to the show’s cast during a backstage meeting.

The final taping for Lucha Underground’s second season takes place today and producers for the show informed all the wrestlers beforehand that a third season has already been greenlit by the network.

Multiple sources say the cast was also told the show would be hitting the iTunes store in a few months as well — which means those without the El Rey Network will finally be able to watch.

No word on when Season 3 will start filming.
