The Wrestle-1 Thread
The Wrestle-1 Thread
With the announcement that W-1 is holding a tourney to crown its first champion, I thought it right that the company had its own thread.
Here are the details on the title tournament:
16-man Tournament. First round matches take place 9/21-9/23. Semis and Finals will be 10/8 at Korakuen Hall(two days before BFG).
Here is the bracket...
KAI vs. Manabu Soya
Minoru Tanaka vs. winner of a qualifier between Daiki Inaba and Koji Doi
Hiroshi Yamato vs. Seiki Yoshioka
Kaz Hayashi vs. Shuji Kondo
Tajiri vs. Masakatsu Funaki
Akira vs. Ryota Hama
Masayuki Kono vs. winner of a qualifier between Andy Wu and Jiro Kuroshio
Yasufumi Nakanoue vs. Yusuke Kodama
No TNA wrestlers in the tournament and no Gaijins at all for that matter. I'd guess the final will come down to KAI facing whoever wins the first round matchup between Tajiri and Funaki. Another interesting bit of booking is having both members of Team 246 facing each other in round one, I'm intrigued to see where they go with that.

I'm not sure if I've touted it on here, but go out of your way to watch the Wolves vs. Junior Stars match from a few months ago.

Has there been any word on what's happening to the Wolves-246 match due to Davey's injury? Was really looking forward to that one.
Re: The Wrestle-1 Thread
Tigre Uno takes the spot of Davey.

Could somebody do me a favour and tell me whether they can view this video? It's coming up as an error for me, but I don't know if it's just my computer or a dailymotion problem.

I tried it and got an error message also (wasn't planning on watching it, just wanted to see if it worked, for Robareid's benefit).

Re: The Wrestle-1 Thread
Okay, at least it's not a problem with my computer then. Thanks.
I've been watching quite a bit of W-1, ZERO1 and BJPW (the three cross over loads) from the tail end of 2013 recently, while I wait for the missing NJPW PPV of 2012 to come up on WPW Returns Classics so I can then continue my watch through of them. I chose them because Wolves vs. Junior Star was so good.
Damn, Sekimoto is great. He's kind of like what you'd get if you crossed Ishii and Goto. Strong BJ as a team are amazing too. Any combination of Junior Stars, Team 246, The Wolves, Strong BJ, Dangan Yankees, Hashimoto & Kawakami or Tanaka & Obata is fantastic.
Once I polish off 2013 I'll give a quick list of the best matches to check out since Wrestle-1's formation to the end of the year.

Well maybe people will be ok if I talk about Ryota Hama in this thread. I seen few his matches tonight. The guy is really talented, he is actually amazing.
He can move really well for a big guy, he is awesome.

Re: The Wrestle-1 Thread
This company has become just a vanity project for Mutoh.
Hold title tournament without Mutoh
Kono wins
Kono loses belt to Mutoh in first defense
???
Profit?
Set Sanada up to be the next ace
send him to TNA for seasoning
Allow TNA to do a Mutah rip off gimmick
Bring him back with little to no fanfair
Have him lose to Mutoh
????
Profit?
How Mutoh has found funding for this is beyond me.

All the shovel jokes should be made for Mutoh he has been doing these since so many years,he has done it with nakanishi, nakamura, naito, goto. The old fucker rarely puts anyone over.stupid piece of shit its good he left ajpw but took away really good talent with him to w1 like kanemoto(who is fired now)minoru, sanada and shuji kondo.and what is he doing now?putting himself over.old kneeless piece of shit
Re: The Wrestle-1 Thread
I watched W-1 live and never think Kanemoto such good one.
They got new roster (TAJIRI,AKIRA and 4 young boys) so don't have to use freelancers (Kikutaro Kanemoto Takayama) and outsiders (K-Dojo and Women)

Listen to you, a moderator patronising a member, merely because I didn't agree with you. If you weren't patronising me by using the word "beloved" then I would be very very surprised.Robareid wrote:But he doesn't push your beloved Hama, how can you like him?
Look people have different tastes, styles, cos one dude doesn't like the typical Indy style doesn't mean I am wrong. Just ask that my opinions be respected is all.

Maybe people would respect your opinions if you would stop presenting them as facts and shoving them in everybody´s faces every single time you get the opportunity.
I was in the front line when we battled page 15

Re: The Wrestle-1 Thread
Beloved literally means he is loved by you. And I have interpreted from your posts that you love Hama, as in you really like him as a wrestler. I think that's a fair assumption to make.
So I think using the word beloved not only fits, but was exactly the word to use.
