Here's a sobering thought; Vince McMahon has now owned WCW longer than Ted Turner.

There's some archived feedback from fans from WCW.com that you can dig up. Here's a snippet from very late in the life of WCW.

Hey guys! I'm John from Orlando.
Gotta say got a little scared with the slow beginning tonight. Thought it was going a little long. but it turned out to be a very good beginning. I am seeing a lot of excitement from the guys. They are apparently jacked over the fact they have a leader to follow now. Nash looks like he wants to be involved now which it looked like he was just going threw the motions there for a while. I haven't seen him that INTENSE in quite a while. And the crowd seemed into it as well. Good going guys
So far you guys are doing well.

I'm glad to see that WCW is back to being cutting edge like it was when the NWO was creating havoc. The show tonight was probably one of the best I have seen in a long time. The only thing I'm pretty disappointed in is the fact that Goldberg is being forced to retire even if it is a storyline(?). He is one of the true superstars of WCW alongside Sting, Booker T, Kevin Nash along with all the others. I am not a big fan of Goldberg but he is still very popular with the fans and why lose fans without him being here.
Also, I noticed the events calendar does not list the house shows like it used to. Hey I need my fix of live wrestling, if you decide not to come back to Pittsburgh I guess I will have to jump ship and start watching WWF. I have been a loyal fan since the first house show I worked back in 1995.
Plus send my regards to Sid Vicious, he is a true star in this sport; and what happened to him was unbearable. I hope this does not hamper his desire or love for being a sports entertainer in the wrestling business. I hope things are going well for him. And I wish him well.
Sincerely
Ms. Tawny

The Sin ppv was one of the best turning points I've ever seen in WCW. I was shoked when the Road Warrior Animal was the Mystery Partner. Monday Nitro was what it was suppose to be. I like the new alliances with Lugar, Bagwell, Jarret, the Road Warrior, and Steiner. I think that this Monday Nitro was the best I've ever seen. It even looked realistic. Excellent job WCW,

"SIN" What a great ppv. who ever is doing the booking and to the creative team way to shock the wrestling world once again. Every one said it was Rick Steiner. But I said no, WCW will surprise us. Animal. Never saw it coming. You have a lot of talent in WCW and each week you can see them improving not only their wrestling skills but also their mic skills. SIN was great. Steiner is the flagship, CROWBAR is the best wrestler he should have the Hardcore title. I don't care what the WWF fans say WCW is the BEST wrestling organization in the world. I just found out that Bisholf has bought WCW, finally. I along with all my friends will continue to support you as long as you put great shows on. I would love to meet Crowbar. I have all the respect in the world for him and all the wrestlers. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Subject: A very energetic SIN!
Hello WCW,
I must say that SIN ruled! Every match was enjoyable and the fans really seemed to be into all of the matches! I don't understand the ending to the main event for the World Heavy Weight title. When the Mystery man came into the ring why was Steiner able to pin Sid so easily after a couple of punches? Steiner could have pinned Sid before the Mystery man even came into the ring, I assume that WCW wanted to show that the Mystery man was affiliated with Steiner. None the less, the ending happened too quickly.
I like the potential of Perfectly Buff vs. the Insiders! This feud has the potential for many story lines in the future! It would have been nice if someone would have come out to assist the Insiders though.
The Shockberg, sorry Goldberg match - I must be having a tazer relapse, was quite interesting! I am eagerly awaiting the consequences on Nitro of the fan interference, though the match was no DQ. Getting rid of Goldberg now is not the way that WCW should go.
The cruiserweight matches were very exciting and energetic!
I think Shane Douglas has a great deal of potential as the U.S. Heavy weight champion! The question is...where is Franchise's next feud?
Basically all of the matches were spectacular. I hope that WCW keeps the matches exciting, energetic, and with intriguing story lines!!!
Thanks

Hello WCW,
SIN was outstanding from top to bottom. I couldn't believe it was Road Warrior Animal as the mystery man, I would have bet the house it was Rick Stiener or Sting. I also can't believe Goldberg is gone I was shocked on that one. Who was the punk kid with the can of mace? NBT really proved themselves against the Insiders although I hated to see Nash & DDP lose the belts. Meng the Hardcore Champion, nice to see him with a belt finally. Oh Canada!! On a scale of 1-10, I give this PPV a 9. What a way to start off 2K1 for WCW very positive note.

They did it! TOtally Boff beat Goldberg! The silence of that crowd was priceless! What I would have given to be there in person. While everyone was so concerned that Sarge might cost Goldberg the match and Flair helps matters out with that no DQ rule, Totally Buff's plan worked with perfection! I'm glad that Goldberg went down to the Blockbuster. This will definately give Buff that main event push he needs, and as heel. I can't wait for their feud with the Insiders! Keep up the surprises!

(P.S. please turn Jarrett against Steiner! Jarrett could do wonders as a good guy!)

Best Match: All of them
Worst Match: None
Best Moment: ANIMAL
For a Die Hard WCW fan the PPV Ruled. The PPV had a rating of 10 until the ending of the Main Event on how Sid got pinned, so it was drop to a 5 but when the Mystery Man was Revealed I jump out of my seat and screamed Holy ****. And it got a 10. The PPV was great. I loved every match. The crowd was in every match and it made it more exciting. Cruiserweight Match was Great. Chavo is getting what he deserves. Dragons/North Carolina boys was great action for match that was made on the spot. Goldberg Streak thing over but can't wait to see what happens now. DOuglas/G.R. was great the Franchise is back and that's a Fact ********'s. Tag Title match was good maybe the Insiders will go there different ways. Reno/Vito was excellent. Title match was OK but mystery man was great. Penalty Box match was more then expected same can be said with Hard-core match. By the way Tony and Scott were great tonight on commentating. Bottom line is every superstar put into this night to show the new boss what they have and to me it looks as if WCW is starting the year of great.

Dear WCW, I thought SIN was all around good from start to finish. The Crusierweight match was great. I think it will be just a matter of time before Shane Helms is the Cruisrweight Champion. I really enjoyed the Jung Dragons and Noble and Karagias tag match it was a very entertaining match with alot of high spots. The Penalty box match was alot better than I thought it would be. It turned out to be one of the best matches on the card. The match between The Cat and Mike Sanders was good but it could have been better. The Hardcore match was real good I really enjoyed it alot. It was one of the best hardcore matches I have ever seen. I am glad that Shane Douglas finally got what he deserved the United States title. The tag-team title match was not that good but it was ok. But I am glad to see the Thrillers with the gold once again. The match with Totally Buff against Sarge and Goldberg was good. I really enjoyed the ending where Buff did the blockbuster off of Luger's shoulders that was awesome and I am glad to see Goldberg finally gone from WCW. The Main Event was good but the Mystery Man could have been somebody else besides Road Warrior Animal. Somebody like Rob Van Dam. But over all it was a good pay-per-view to start the new year. I am looking foward to Nitro tommorrow night and Suberbrawl Revenge next month.

Subject: The Goldberg Match at Sin
Okay I am sure you are gonna recieve a ton of mail about this match, but I needed to voice my opinion about what happened tonight to Goldberg at SIN..........
What in the world is going on here???? I might be the only one to say this but I strongly feel that Goldberg is WCW!!!
He is the only reason I watch wrestling, the man is awesome!!!!!
What is the likely hood that they will not count that match and they will have a rematch?? The man deserves a rematch....................
Please let Goldberg stay at WCW!!!
Sincerely, a dedicated goldberg fan

Hey my name is nathan and i just got done watching your ppv sin it was awesome indeed. i think eric will do a very great job for WCW and beat the WWF just do us all a favor and keep him for a long time. I thought maybe i would send a list of what superstars need to be gettin a push and some are franchise, Jarrett, NBT, Kronik, Luger and Buff, Storm, Awesome, Primetime, and most defiantly Pump!!!!! Why do you guys have Sid and Funk out there why isnt Goldberg fighting Steiner for the gold that would get ratings and rule big time thanks WCW keep Eric!!!!!
2000 was way worse imo. i should have stopped watching wcw in 2000. Watched it from late 91 until the endIndynut wrote:I think WCW's worst year was 1999.
Cases in point:
Fingerpoke Of Doom
Master P
Lenny & Lodi as a gay duo
Rey & Psicosis unmask
Nash & Page put themselves over as world champions
Sting's heel turn
Half assed hardcore matches
Ric Flair as on air pres
David Flair as US champion
Berlyn
Oklahoma
Killing the TV title
Raven walks out
Jericho & Big Show go to vince
Sandman & Whipwreck go back to ECW
Bill Bush takes over after Bischoff is benched
Powers That Be
Nash is a piece of crap. I do not understand why people like him. He can not wrestle. Sid is the man.
In closing I feel and believe Jeff Jarret is the man and has always been the man and hopefully WCW and Jeff Jarret have a long and meaningful relationship.
David Flair is great. Please keep pushing him.
I want to yell "Goldberg Sucks," very loud when I go to SOULED OUT.
Lastly, Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan are wonderful.
The 1st quarter of 2000 was very bad for them:ROHFanAnthony wrote:2000 was way worse imo. i should have stopped watching wcw in 2000. Watched it from late 91 until the endIndynut wrote:I think WCW's worst year was 1999.

Here's more from 2000:ROHFanAnthony wrote:What about the rest of 2000?
David Arquette wins the world title
Vince Russo becomes an on air character and hogs tv time
Russo beats Flair in a cage match
Viagra on a pole match
The world title changing hands like 5 times within a month in May
Jeff Jarrett 4 time wcw champion(he should have gotten just 1 reign)
Ric Flair getting his head shaved
Goldberg heel turn
Bash at the Beach incident with Russo and Hogan
Fat chick thriller gimmick for Mike Awesome
They did a thing before New Blood Rising where they wondered if Goldberg, Steiner, and Nash will "stick to the script"
Vince Russo becomes wcw champion
Stacy Kiebler pregnancy nonsense
For the first quarter of 2000 you left out the stupid strap match between Hogan and Flair
There was also a guy with a Dog gimmick(Al Greene?)
Oklahoma winning the cruiserweight title(Ed Ferrera was a fat fcuk back then and still is)
How can you think 99 was worse than 2000?
I thought we were talking about bad stuff that happened in WCW...Tank Abbott beats up Mark Madden
