Because you only need about 80 tweets to start a twitter trend.

@WWE
BREAKING: AJ Lee (April Mendez) has decided to retire from in-ring competition with WWE. We wish AJ the very best.

Let's see how many people chant CM Punk! over her announcement.
I am cosmetically pleasing.

Re: The WWE Thread
I've already read reports speculating that she's going to UFC and will be challenging Ronda Rousey

That rumour has come up about once a month for the last year.

Re: The WWE Thread
Had an entire (lost) comment about how bad and quiet Saxton was on Raw commentary and that they had to send out Lawler to save him. Apparently there's a (total dirtsheet) rumor that Vince felt the same way and got roid mad.

Re: The WWE Thread
I thought his commentary on Monday was perfect for the situation and the reason they waited to send Lawler out was to give it more of that effect. After that Lesnar carnage you can't just go back to a normal show immediately. The unprepared, quiet commentary added a very real sense of shock and unexpectedness to the whole thing so that it sank in.
I don't believe for one second that they had Lawler in the arena and their plan was to have Saxton do one man commentary for two hours straight. But again, you can't have Lawler come out to a babyface pop and make idiotic one-liners so soon after that type of segment.
It's also the reason they did that segment so early in the show instead of the main event. It helped it sink in and show the gravity of what had happened in the following two hours rather than forgetting about it until the next week.

Re: The WWE Thread
The super serious voice was fine right after the segment, but then he kept doing it and was pretty much dying there after ten minutes.

Re: The WWE Thread
Smackdown is moving to the USA network in the first quarter of 2016.
Big move since USA will carry 3 shows for the E (RAW, Smackdown & Tough Enough). I expect WWE will have to step up their smackdown game considering the extra amoung of eyes that get USA as compared to Syfy.

The best thing to come out of Steiner saying he's gonna kill Hogan will be when the cops show up to get Steiner, sirens blasting at max.
