Weird that Young showed up and not Roode. Maybe he hasn't signed yet?

Or they could be holding him off till the May 19th tapings.

Who cares if Eric Young is 36. He's not immobile or anything.

I don't even like Young that much but your statement is ridiculous.

Observer:
There is also talk of doing a Global womens tournament on the network next, as well as continuing the annual Dusty Rhodes tag team tournament in NXT. The women’s tournament will be like the cruiserweight tournament, mixing current talent with non-roster talent in what amounts to tryout matches.

Joe vs Young was fine except for Eric being way too punchy on offense.

Matt Wichlinski has finally been let go. NXT's Strength and Conditioning Coach who is known for his questionable advice about weightlifting that may have lead to so many talent injuries as well as allegedly sexually harassing female talent 2 or 3 years ago.

Regarding Eric Young on NXT last night, he hasn't signed a deal with WWE as of yet.

Observer:
Joe Belcastro is the new head writer for NXT working under Paul Levesque, and is also working with him on the Cruiserweight Classic and was also involved in the pilot of the NXT Kids show. He replaced Ryan Ward, who did a great job with the show. Ward is now exclusive to Raw and Smackdown. Belcastro, 35, did some writing for the Tampa Tribune and grew up as a wrestling fan. He approached WWE for a writing job after college in 2008 and was turned down. He wrote for the local newspaper and did movie reviews for online entertainment websites and a friend with a WWE connection got him another interview in 2013. He was hired, even though he had never written a script in his life. Evidently during his interview they liked how he discussed storylines and building layers to them.

The Global cruiserweight series has been renamed the Cruiserweight Classic. There may be some changes in how the tournament is done. Originally they were going to tape the entire tournament over a week at Full Sail University. Now there is talk of doing matches both on the separate Global cruiserweight show that will air on the network, and maybe air some matches on NXT and tape them as part of the NXT tapings. Levesque and Belcastro are expected to be the people largely in charge of writing the cruiserweight show.

Wrestlers in the cruiserweight tournament were given dates of 6/20 to 6/25 for taping dates to at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. Most, if not the entire ten week season, is scheduled to be filmed. There is also an NXT TV taping on 6/24 when they are there, so if there’s a taping that they’ll all be at and some would be on, that would be the one.

Right Here!!
History will be made on June 8 at TakeOver when NXT Champion Samoa Joe defends the title against former champion Finn Bálor in NXT’s first Steel Cage Match.

NXT General Manager William Regal made the announcement during a contract signing at the WWE Performance Center that was broadcast on Facebook Live just three days after a wild brawl erupted between champion and challenger at a Live Event in Portland, Oregon. There, the entire NXT roster had to clear out of the locker room in order to separate the fierce rivals. According to Regal, the decision to turn the bout into a Steel Cage Match was done to ensure the safety of NXT fans and guarantee a definitive conclusion to the rivalry.

As first seen on Facebook Live, NXT Champion Samoa Joe and Finn Bálor had strong words for each other as they signed the contract for their Steel Cage Match at NXT TakeOver on June 8.

The highly anticipated bout marks the third consecutive championship match between Joe and Bálor at an NXT TakeOver, and the fourth duel between the two Superstars over NXT’s top prize. To say they are familiar, if evenly matched, foes would do a disservice to what has become one of NXT’s all-time most intense rivalries.

After going 0-for-2 in the narrowly decided TakeOver matches, the Samoan submission machine broke Bálor’s historic 292-day reign as NXT Champion on April 21 at a Live Event in Lowell, Massachusetts, far from the bright lights of WWE Network. Since losing the title, Bálor has been singularly focused on reasserting himself as champion.

One common denominator of this championship series is that each brawl has been more explosive than the one before it. The addition of an unforgiving steel cage only promises that trend will continue on June 8. Who will benefit more from the steely environment: Joe or Bálor?

Watch this legendary rivalry hit a new crescendo when NXT Champion Samoa Joe and Finn Bálor meet inside the steel cage at TakeOver on Wednesday, June 8, live and only on the award-winning WWE Network.

I am really digging this feud right now. The build towards a steel cage match has been logical. It's got kind of an old school feel to it all. It hasn't felt long or drawn out. It hits all the right notes in my book of what feud is. These guys are fucking hating each other and it's got to end in a cage. Pro Wrestling 101 right here, people.
