Did I jump into a time machine and end up back at the Bradley Center for Taboo Tuesday 2004? Tapering and empty seats aplenty here at the Toyota Center. Nosebleeds tarped entirely.

Re: The NXT Thread
Couldn't happen to a nicer terrible wrestling promotion.
Re: The NXT Thread
I watched the War Games match this morning out of curiosity and recommendation from a friend. It was a fun spotfest. I wouldn't say anything particularly special but I enjoyed it.

Re: The NXT Thread
NXT Takeover was good, but man, some of the camera work sucked ass. Good spots were missed or punches missing by a light year were shown. Shocked that this was a WWE production.
Andrade Almas winning was cool. I like him a lot and the repackaging of him worked out. He always delivers in the ring and should have some really good matches as champion.
Ember Moon winning was a given. She doesn't do much for me.
Aleistar Black vs. Velveteen Dream was better than I expected. Dream held his own in the ring, which I had my doubts before the match. Black is one of my favorite wrestlers. Period.
It's still so weird see the ex-ROH guys main eventing a NXT show. The match itself was entertaining. That cut Alexander Wolfe had was fucking nasty. Its clear that Triple H is building NXT around the The Undisputed Era as Cole just elicits charisma.
With the exception of Cole, I see none of these ex-ROH guys going to the main roster. Its just a question of which of them wind up back in ROH first.

Re: The NXT Thread
I could see Strong on the main roster.

Meh. Strong is destined for 205 Live, which shouldn't count as main roster.

Re: The NXT Thread
That would be a sad fate for Roddy, since a big reason why he went to WWE was said to be because NJPW didn't want to use him as a heavyweight.
Any promotion that doesn't see they've got a main event talent in Roderick Strong is a lost cause. He always delivers in his matches. Always.

Re: The NXT Thread
I couldn't agree more. I've seen a LOT of Roddy matches in both ROH and PWG, and I'm hard pressed to name a match where he didn't deliver big time. The man's the true definition of a workhorse.

Re: The NXT Thread
Totally agree with both you guys about Roddy. We are seeing how Triple H uses guys down in NXT aren't treated quite the same when called up to the main roster. I have little confidence in Vince showcasing ex-ROH guys like Fish, O'Reilly, and Strong the way they should be. Yeah Owens, Caesro, and Rollins have worked out, but the Aries and Zayn treatment might be the fate of those guys, if they even get called up.

Re: The NXT Thread
As someone who has seen Cole and O'Reilly feud over the years I dislike their trio with Fish. These two are another Steen and Generico their destiny is to always be linked and to fight forever.

Observer:
Also, as of right now, there is an added Takeover show on 6/16 in Chicago, so there are five scheduled this year instead of four and Money in the Bank is now going to be positioned as one of the “big five” instead of the old “big four” events
